Love your videos! ❤️ Question: Do you need to use a laser jet printer or will ink jet work as well?
@4UnlimitedBEing Жыл бұрын
Hey, there! I'm not the OP, but I'll answer you in case she doesn't find your msg and respond. For this particular transfer method (reverse print secured with Mod Podge - or a water based polyurethane apparently works as well) the design must be printed from a laser printer. Toner will transfer with this method where ink is water based and you'll likely end up with just a blob of black smudged all over a piece of lumber where the design would have been once you add water to the back of the paper. You can do regular Mod Podge transfer of some design or message you like (printed forward) on an ink jet printer, where you'll be attaching the paper to the item (wood, metal, glass, ceramic, etc) with a layer of Mod Podge on item surface, affix the paper with design and smooth, apply thin layer of mod podge on top of paper for better sealing and protection. Just make sure the ink is thoroughly dry before you use the paper! 😉 Hope this is helpful!
@RedRockingBird Жыл бұрын
For the way I did it here - laser jet Thank you 😊

What kind of printer did you use? Cause when ive tried this- the mod podge smeared.
@RedRockingBird Жыл бұрын
Inkjet, pasting mod podge on shouldn’t smudge the ink, then make sure it’s 100% dry before wetting

Sarah, Bill Here. It has been a while. I wanted to ask if you have ever tried a thinner or thicker paper for your inkjet printer with the mod podge (transfer to wood) to see if one works better than the other? Just thot you might have an answer before I go and purchase some more paper...? You ROCK! Thanks, much!

Hi Bill, I use really basic fairly thin paper, if you go thick then there is far too much to rub back off 😂😊 best of luck, sorry for the delay

@RedRockingBird Жыл бұрын
I just make sure the mod podge has 100% dried first, then dabs of water and make sure I’m rubbing lightly, that part of process takes a long while. If the technique is not for you then try something else if you’ve given it a good few goes, I made wood signs a few different ways on my channel, best of luck
