Question for people that know more abouth pitch classification: why are they calling Pallante's cutter a 4-seam? It really does look like a cutter to me
@CaptainRednose4 ай бұрын
Andre Pallante does have a "unique" 4-seam fastball. Sometimes it'll even look like a "sinking cutter". Also, Andre does tend to throw "glove-side" 4-seam fastballs - which does make his 4-seamers look like it's cutting across the plate but, the reason why it's listed as a 4-seam fastball and not a cutter, is because of how he grips the baseball. As well as, the type of "spin", common for a 4-seam fastball
@Antonio_Serdar4 ай бұрын
@@CaptainRednose Not just that, I looked at its horizontal movement on baseball savant, it runs far less than the average 4-seamer and almost breaks.

@damac51364 ай бұрын
Agreed. Mozeliak traded away all the would-be studs, though. They need a stud hitter in the outfield, especially if Arenado/Goldschmidt don't cut it, which they clearly haven't on offense (their defense is still great) since 2022.
