Rachel Ward has the loveliest voice: so soothing without being saccharine. I would love for her to make recordings of reading, or something! I listen to The Thorn Birds dialogue sometimes simply because it makes me feel happy.

one of the best, Storaro. A travesty that Vilmos Zsigmond wasn't even nominated for Brian De Palma's "Blow Out," though

I miss Chevy from the 80s too. Why do we all have to get so old? If only we could keep celebrities young. But sadly, old age is unavoidable.

When Rachel Ward comes down the stairway in the Thorn Birds, at that moment in history she was arguably the most beautiful woman on earth.

Now listen! I loved Rachel Ward as much, if not more than the next man back in the day - possibly even more than Bryan Brown, but it was most reprehensible of her to sacrifice her cut glass British vowels (her grandfather was the Earl of Dudley; her dad the Rt Hon.) for the weird demi-semi trans-Atlantic, mock-stralian accent she adopts here. I wrote to her about this 30 years ago but am now beginning to think her reply from Australia has gone astray.

Rachel was super stunning here and in the Thorn Birds. She didn't age well at all. Didn't take care of her skin or hair. Did she smoke cigarettes too. She's 60 now and look terrible.

Age is just a number man, let’s see what U look like…If you weren’t so stereotypical w/yer judging, I may suggest trying to see a person as a “beautiful soul” - than just a person w/skin that wilts and ages--we all do this as humans ya know, duh! But, that’s obviously beyond your comprehension !!

@Mz Thompsun Well 60 sure ain’t old to me, coming from one who’s soon to be 60, I don’t look a day over a 40 (so I’m told by Many), & am very young spirited, I take care of myself & don’t ever plan on acting my age anytime soon!! It’s when U act your age and worry about what others LOOK like -is precisely when you age yourself and stay in a negative perspective on aging, which also adds to that “old” way of thinking! I’m sure grateful & glad that I don’t have that type of perspective, am positive it’ll help me continue to live longer too!!!
