My personal Hungarian soldier idol from WWI is Viktor Maderspach. He was a hussar captain and had all ethnicities from all over Austria-Hungary under his command. He stated several times that he preferred very much to fight together with his Bosnian soldiers because they were fierce fighters, most loyal, most disciplined and very, very reliable. When I’d like to get a taste from the Austria-Hungary Monarchy I always recall my memories gathered via my city tour in Sarajevo a couple of years ago. Preserve your beautiful country and the colourful ethnic structure! I admit that it is sometimes hard to keep it together, but still, it would be a pity if it would break apart!

As a Finn, it's weird hearing Hungarian singing. It's like the feeling you get when you hear singing elsewhere and you kinda inherently know it's in your own language, even if you can't make out the lyrics. I like that ending. As a Hungarian, moderate territorial losses would have been inevitable due to the ethnic tension in the country. It's likely areas such as the Banat or Northern Slovakia would have eventually been lost so losing them via treaty seems bearable. However any losses in Transylvania would've been seen as a huge national tragedy still.

Remember that despite your ancestors weren't the main aggressor of the World War 1, your ancestors unfortunately imposed a strong and oppressive magyarization across the entire multi ethnic Kingdom of Hungary. @RedStarMapping It only makes sense. Every nation worth it's salt in the 1700-1800s was unifying it's people and language. Happened in France, happened in Italy and Germany. And let's not forget about the colonial factor. European countries were forcing nations thousands of miles away to speak their language and act certain ways. If that wasn't frowned upon I don't see how applying something like that within one's own country can be critiqued. It was our every right to enforce that across the kingdom, apart from in Croatia, and it was working as people learnt the language which was an advantage when finding formal work or moving into urban areas. With hindsight it can be deemed oppressive but then so could pretty much everything happening in Europe in the 1800s. My point stands, had Trianon not happened or been moderate then by today there wouldn't be ethnic tensions in Hungary because the ethnic minorities would have been integrated giving them equal opportunities.

Nice video but one misconception in the beginning is that Hungary is not a Finno-Ugric country. The language is similar to it cuz the Hungarians stayed in the Urals for a few year after started migrating from the mongol territory (where Hungarians actually origante from). Only the language have similarities. I would say that the country itself is a very unique one. It's not Finno-Ugric but neither Mongolian.
