My body learns something new each time I do this lesson. I never tire of doing it, my body never tires of learning new (and better) ways of doing things.

OH-MY-GOD Long time since a feldenkrais lesson was giving me "the deep relaxation feeling", right there on the left hip. Its amazing how left hip and left shoulder are connected (both of them are super fucked up in my case since many years). Im confident some day they will stop hurting, but today i celebrated afterwards with some salsa-like dance moves 😂 Thank you so much for this lesson ❤

“Ah, the floor!…Wonderful!” Indeed! Another great lesson. This lesson felt particularly “Feldenkrais-y” to me. Exploring simple but unusual movements while lying in a simple but unusual position. And in the end, “whoa!”

@@ImprovingAbility I did this lesson yesterday and this morning, when doing my usual morning Somatic session I noticed significantly more spinal rotation and it was more well dispersed throughout my spine. Ok, that should perhaps be expected. But my grumpy left shoulder had *considerably* more external rotation. What?! 🤯 💜

Many, many thanks Alfons. You certainly made my day...and have given me new 'homework' to get better and better at these movements. It feels absolutely great. And has brought to my attention how tight my right side, shoulder and breast muscles are in comparison to the left. Release has been such a reward!!!! Have a great Sunday and thank you again!

Oh my! I am moving through a lot of stuff at the moment, and one of my themes is coming to my single one self instead of the divided (one side fighting the other) self I have occupied for a very large part of my life. So this came together with this lesson like the cosmos ordered it so, and my whole body, face, head feels suffused in warmth and softness. Way better than meditation for me. I feel so lucky to have you in my life Alfons .... the next lesson is the one you have just released, which you described as like a painting. I look forward to it, see you there xxxx

I can’t believe I’m so blessed to receive such powerful lessons for free right here in my living room in Birmingham, Alabama. This lesson has freed up a locked neck on my right side. It’s been locked as far back as I can remember. I am stunned. My background is in dance and Pilates and I suffer from severe PTSD I am also experiencing some kind of strange intensity of emotions…particularly sadness. Yet freedom. I feel like I need to do it all again right away as my left side is still horribly locked. But I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not. I feel a bit tired. And scared too. My body has been injured and abused so much. But I’m so tempted to do the whole lesson again right now. Should I?

Hi :) I‘m glad to hear of your improvements! I suggest you pick a small movement (or let it come to you), for example lying half on your side (or lying on your back) and reaching juuuuuust a little bit with your right or left hand (maybe even pick a finger, or let a finger pick the movement). And dive deep into that one (or let that one movement move you)… so instead of a full course of 77 dishes just savour the one you like best at a moment… enjoy!

This was an amazing lesson. It just turned up all of a sudden this afternoon when I was needing to initiate some therapeutic movement. Thank you so much it was unique and extremely beneficial to my entire body. I feel so much more alive. My muscles and joints feel loose and relaxed. My head is clear. Thank you Alfons.

@@ImprovingAbility it's definitely something wonky with the way youtube suggests videos. Even though I've been subscribed to your channel for years and have watched umpteen videos and comment on a lot of them, youtube doesn't suggest them to me. I have to specifically look up your channel. Although the kitten/dog videos youtube suggests that make me laugh or feel moved emotionally are definitely a significant part of my wellness routine, they pale in comparison to the benefits I get from your movement lessons.

I've come back to this one several times. Today, I latched onto the question in the first position of whether the hands were palm up or palm down. My palms had always been facing up, so I tried turning them down to the floor. It was so much fun when my knees were to the right! I swished and moved and rolled, so playful. And then I tried the same thing with my knees to the left, and Nothing Happened! I was completely locked up. I love it when I find these blind spots, I get so much benefit from opening them up and developing the ability to see there. So I breathed into my ribs and rolled my head a little side to side, it took maybe 10 minutes of waiting and breathing and trying gently again until I got a teeny tiny bit of movement of my shoulder girdle. I got up to walk around a little and it was just pleasant, no biggie, just a subtle open feeling in the right side of my head. Then I touched my neck! My neck felt supple. Supple! I've been doing body stuff for over 40 years and my neck has never ever felt this good! The bump where thoracic meets cervical spine was completely smoothed out. It just feels right. YUM!

Thank you Alfons, It was lovely to feel the cells in my body becoming alive. Similar to slapping your body parts when practicing Qi- Gong. It was a bit intense in my lower back area.🥴I did not use any support. Oops! I will use my light bolster between my legs next time. I give myself extra point for doing it with my cat resting on me during the whole session.👍

Hello a question for you pls. With such an unusual position and for some even with probs a challenge could we start on back with legs shoulder width and then find the arms along side of us making it easier for back arm and chest and more room for hips? or does this change the lesson too much? I am curious ?
@ImprovingAbility
@ImprovingAbility 2 жыл бұрын
Good question, Darlene! Try it in side-lying flush on your side, for example lying on your right side, and have your left arm a bit behind you, as far as it’s easy and comfortable. So instead of your suggested approximation, to start in lying supine with feet standing, start from side-lying and the knees on top of each other… extend the legs a bit, like this it should be a bit more flexible, don’t fold them up into right angles.

@@darlenecarman7644 yes, furthermore maybe use a large pillow or rolled up blanket on your left. Like the blue towel I used in the video, but 20 times bigger. Relax your left arm onto it 😍
