Reduced Engine Power FIX on Chevy P2122 P2138 P2135 Solved

Installed this on my 2007 Chevy Impala. This install only took me around 15 minutes. A 10mm socket, two bolts and one electrical clip and the job is finished. Replacing this part solved the engine power reduced issue i was having. In my case, I had two different error codes, the first was for the throttle body's sensor. So, after verifying that code, I replaced it and the car was fine for about a month. The engine power reduced problem came back so I had this new code read and it turned out to be this accelerator also. My issue was at both ends, so I suggest going to a place that will read the error code and verify which one it really is. The secondary issue replacing this part resolved was a random rough shifting problem. Sometimes when attempting to accelerate from a complete stop, the car would lag and then the transmission would jerk into gear. Since replacing this part, acceleration is smooth, responsive, and consistent throughout the whole RPM range. Gas mileage is +2 mpg also!

YOU DONT REPLACE THE GAS PEDAL FIRST. There's a bulletin about a harness rubbing against the canister purge solenoid bracket or in that area so you can check that and see if you find an obvious bare wire. Canister purge solenoid is on the left side of the engine as it sits in the car and has a red two wire connector. Look carefully in that area and see if you find anyhting. There is also a bulletin, general in nature, about checking wiring connectors for corrosion and checking for aftermarket add ons installed on the APP circuits. The accelerator pedal has 2 sensors in it and if they don't 'agree' this code will set. Issues with these sensors are generally just there for an instant and then they're gone however the code stays latched until you cycle the key and then as long as the code doesn't reset you can drive normally again. The APP sensors do go bad sometimes but on your car you have to verify the wiring rubbing issue is not present first. *Facepalm*

I have a 2010 chevrolet traverse and it hive me code P2138. So i replace the gas pedal new and also a new throthle body and i still have the same problem. But once the truck heat up it runs fine its only when the truck is cold

Adam Hickman did you clear the codes, if still try cleaning the throttle body and the gears on the throttle body position sensor

I did clear the codes. Tried making sure the connection was good in case I didn't get it on tight, but still having the issue. Same codes pops up as before I changed the pedal. I also cleaned the throttle body and MAF. Didn't touch the TPS, but I know those are also prone to issues. I'm just getting a little nervous its something more serious, and replacing the entire throttle body might not fix it for sure.

The same thing happened with me. I changed the pedal and cleaned the throttle but the alarms still on. Is it probable to be a mechanical problem that needs to open the engine?

2010 Chevy Impala reduce engine power I changed out the throttle body an the pedal seems to work but maybe after a minute or so the car goes in to reduce engine power again an for some reason I have to disconnect the power wire to reset the throttle body cause when the engine power reduced shows I don't have RPM ... can a bad starter be the cause

I have change the gas pedal, the throttle body and it still bringing me the P2122 and P2138 codes... I don't know what else it could be. And literally I have spend more than 1k trying to get rid of that check engine light

Scan the codes and go one by one, erase the codes and see which one comes back first.
