I have owned 2 pair of these exact boots. The first pair lasted me almost 3 yrs the bottom of the boot was completely slick when I retired them. I have had my second pair a Lil over a year and I finally had a cable snap. Redwing replaced the cables at no cost to me at all. Great boots.

They must have changed the alloy in the steel because I was able to pull mine apart. They got jammed up due to that shit plastic coating coming off in the click wheel. I pulled to try to get it out and it snapped. Then the eyelet pulled off when I was trying to get the cable out. Junk.

I slip my foot in mine don’t tighten them until I get to work. I tell the guys when they hear that click it’s time to get it.

I had a BOA lace break, I was doing utility linework and put them thru some serious shit. Red wing replaced both steel laces and they oiled them

Also Redwing makes their own sole inserts now that they sold with the boots to me and they feel great!

I know I am a few beers deep but is there a picture of some chicken wings in the corner of the video ?! My work has a contract with red wing so we get a new pair every year, I'm yet to try the BOA system but I wanna try it on the next pair.

lol I have the wolverines you were talking about there worn to shit and I broke the ratcheting thing on one and the laces wore threw the fabric also on both , one wire is fucked up but holding on by one thread of steel for atleast 2 months and still going but definitely like the boa system just a shitty boot plan on getting ariat work hogs and a pair of these

Hey man not sure if you’ll see this comment or not. But I’m looking at the Red Wing MaxBound boots. They are the 8” version of these. I work at my family’s scrapyard and boots last me only about 5 months man. The oils, hydro, and gas gets to them. But I have only bought cheap boots. So I’m looking for some new good ones. I dig the Boa setup.

Redwing is still made in Minnesota. They just have 3 tiers. Made overseas, made in USA with imported materials, and made in USA. White tongue tag is the USA ones, black tongue tag is China. I tend to stay away from the Chinese ones as they’re always glued on soles vs welted.
