I’m a big dude and I’ve been wearing these for the last 3 hunting seasons. I just switched out the insole with a high quality one. I really abuse mine and they’re still going strong. I highly recommend them.

I work 60-96 hours a week as an industrial electrician, I go through boots yearly, bought some Irish setter Crosbys and they are the bees knees, they're so comfortable I wear them when I'm not working because they look good. Over a year, they just started showing sole wear.

I bought a pair on Amazon that doesn't have the BOA system, only regular boot laces. I kind of prefer a system I am used to, comfortable with, and feel easier to fix if there is a problem. The boots themselves are fantastic! I have never had a pair of boots wear so well in it's breakin period. Very comfortable, waterproof, and somewhat breathable. I figure they will be my bug out boots in a SHTF situation.

I have had a pair of Irish Setters for three years now. Very comfortable and they came in wide sizes, too. I have been looking for boots with the BOA system, because I first tried it on ski boots and loved them. Looks like you found me the perfect combo. Now I hope they'll have my size in stock. Thanks.

Have 2 pair Red Wings, wear them everyday. Very comfortable, love them. Just resoled one pair for the second time, like new all over again. $100 for a resole job at the Red Wing store, with new laces and fresh oil applied. Not cheap, but good boots!

I've been wearing Irish Setter boots for years driving truck. I use them all year up north in the snow. I usually get 2 to 3 years out of them before replacing them. They've never failed me but I've never had this ratchet system. From what I've experienced with Irish Setters boots I'd give them a try.I switched to these from Bates and I haven't regretted it.

I've been wearing boots for every day for more than 30 years, Georgia boots, Danner, Irish Setter, Under Armour and Timberland. I'm very hard on boots and I have yet to find a boot that can last more than 1 year before the sole starts to separate or split. So far the Timberland Pro series seem to be holding up fairly well. As far as a glued sole I prefer a stitched and glued have held up better than just one way or the other.

You should try V12 brand. Just got 2 years from their Rocky. I just got 2 more pairs, different models to see how they last from everyday use. Great value for money. I usually go for a higher boot with zip side.

So I have these boots, but with laces. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, these are incredible boots for the woods. I have 200+ miles of bird hunting across mountain terrain in these, and they feel exactly like new. And I DESTROY gear. Mutilate it. Everything I own I kill. A few important things though: 1. These boots are not waterproof. They are very water resistant, but by no means proof. If you think you’re getting a gumleaf quality waterproofing, you’re mistaken. You can dunk the bottom half of the boot for a second or two. But that’s it. If you go too high or too long, you’ll have wet socks. I’m personally completely ok with that. Just don’t want to confuse people. 2. The coating on the front and side toe area cracks very easily. You can already see it on your outside right boot. I haven’t experienced and issues related to that, and half my coating is gone. Possibly this helps with water resistance, and that’s why you didn’t notice water seepage right away, and I did. But other than that theory, no issues besides aesthetics. 3. I can’t speak to the boa system but I do know that this isn’t a Irish setter product. It’s a licensed product that I’ve seen on other boots. This kind of makes me trust it a little more, because this is what they do. BUT it gets me nervous regarding dual warranties. Putting that aside, if it does work well and for a long time, I’d be very interested in upgrading because getting a boot tight all the way up your foot/leg is so incredibly important for safety. It’s also is important for longevity of the boot. A loose boot will not last as long as a tight boot. A loose boot stretches and deforms and rips. A tight boot holds its shape. And so will your ankles. Great review. Keep us posted 👍

Ive been wearing red wing boots with these laces since about 2011 the weak point is the laces ive never gotten more than a year without having to replace the laces and they are kind of a pain. the boots themselves ive gotten up to 3 years out of with daily use. with that being said I still continue to buy them and they are $220 a pair. once you start using them its hard to go back.

I have used the boa system in different snowboard boots and binding setups. It’s so much nicer than dealing with laces with heavy gloves. Having wearable boots with them seems really nice but they don’t sell them in just classic black.

I will never again purchase another product made by Irish Setter! I bought a $200 dollar pair of Irish Setter Kastoa work boots and they lasted a total of 27 days before the soles started coming apart. Both of my big toes were on fire at the end of the work day. I had to wear band aids on both big toes to reduce the pain. I ended up throwing them in the trash after a month. Worst boot purchase I've ever made.
@operationNOBO5 жыл бұрын
Let me tell you exactly why not to use these boots in a shtf scenario or for normal use. I have the same boa system except they are for fishing...the Irish Setters actually have more of the wire exposed. The wire in mine has a 100lb strength and guess what... 3 times they have broken. Unless you carry the small allen wrench and a new full piece of wire with a crimp, you are sol. They have busted on sagebrush and downed logs. Nothing is more of a moral downer than having to walk with a loose boot...especially in uneven terrain or through water. Get lace up boots and carry 550cord or extra laces. Ill never get Boa again for fishing or normal use foot wear.

Levi Strauss & Co. is taking a stand against gun violence, an unexpectedly political move from the all-American denim company that could turn off some customers - but also win it points with a new segment of shoppers. The San Francisco-based retailer said last week it is pledging more than $1 million to support nonprofits and youth activists who are working to end gun violence. The company is also partnering with Michael Bloomberg to help create a coalition of business leaders who support gun control measures and encouraging employees to get involved in political causes.
