We absolutely LOVE our sauna. One of our best purchases ever. I don’t think you can go wrong with either traditional heat or infrared. We went with IR for various reasons but wouldn’t balk at a non-IR one either. I think the benefits are just so cool. Congrats on the super cool barrel sauna!

Nice! Is there an app to turn it on?

There is... I didn't get that model. But Harvia makes a model that is Wifi controlled.

I see you posted this 9 months ago. How is the sauna holding up now after 9 months?
@JasonGrubbАй бұрын
So good!!! I use it 2-3 times a week!

Just received my redwood sauna. I see you use Thompson water seal. Did you use it on the entire sauna ? Does it leak into the sauna with fumes and is it safe with toxicity. ?

Been watching your content for a long time. Love the sauna addition. Curious if you have stained the outside yet. I have one as well and after a year in the elements it gets pretty beat up. Online has so many mixed opinions on how to treat the exterior. Curious if you have tackled this yet and if so, what advice.
@JasonGrubb7 ай бұрын
I did treat the outside. Thompsons water seal. I need to do another coat now... I think a treatment every 6 months is probably necessary.

@@JasonGrubb awesome. Thanks!! I just used that for my Redwood outdoors Alaskan cold plunge. Did use anything to clean or treat the inside of your sauna? I know that needs more specialized material because of the VOC.
@JasonGrubb7 ай бұрын
@@AlexBallHere For the inside... I clean with a pressure washer... and treat with Mineral Oil! Just like you would a wood cutting board.

Did redwood supply you with this? I wonder if you wanted the barrel or would have preferred the cabin style?
@JasonGrubb9 ай бұрын
I really like the barrel - I chose the Panorama Barrel with the Porch.

I’m guessing the temperature gauge is faulty, as most North American saunas don’t really go over 180F.
@JasonGrubb11 ай бұрын
The gauge isn't faulty... It's hot AF.

Did you go with the 6 or 8kw heater? Did you get WiFi?
@JasonGrubb10 ай бұрын
6kw no wifi... totally not necessary.

Amazing review! Did you end up sealing the outside of sauna? If so, what sealer did you use? Any fumes from the sealant leak into the unit during use? Thanks!
@JasonGrubb7 ай бұрын
I did... Simply used Thompsons water seal. Works great. Need to redo about every 6-12 months.
