This has nothing to do with the game but how are you doing these reviews? It looks like the studio and Mike are having a conversation. Did you guys film part of it, let Mike record his reply, etc? Well done guys!

We recorded it live, using Facetime on the side. Mike and Chris do the video magic.

@@thedicetower Maybe you can try to have the location who's not speaking in a picture in picture box off to the corner or something? That might give a more cohesive feeling also. I too thought these were recorded separately as well. Either way, nicely done.

@@Stankiem83 I couldn't put my finger on why it seemed so awkward, and I think this is the issue. Watching someone while they are listening makes people realize it's a conversation and not some pre-recorded editing magic.

@@Stankiem83 This is exactly what I came here to type and you beat me to it! It's great seeing Mike be included in the review and learning that it IS live makes it even better. I agree that a picture in picture (with a border) would work well, even if it's just showing Mike nodding along before cutting to him when he speaks.

Waiting on my copy. Glad you guys gave it a good review. I actually like the templates and this game uses them in a unique way. As a wildlife photographer I love the theme too.

Great to see Mike here, even virtual. I'm with Tom on this one. Even after hearing Chris and Mike, the game seems pretty one note, yeah it's unique, but it seems singular

I love incorporating Mike into reviews even when he's not able to be in person! I don't find the 'cuts' disjointing at all, he's not there physically so it'll obviously sound different, and having a picture box while fine would not make or break anything imo. I work from home and so can't always stare at the screen the whole time and just listen a lot anyway, so knowing Mike is at another locale but still present live to review is only positive and I applaud the effort to make it happen. Keep it up! As far as the game, I'm more with Tom, it doesn't look like my cup of tea, I'm also not a huge template fan, but I can see the theme appeal. Great job!

This game really looks good to me, but there are just so many good games out or coming out right now competing for my dollars. And everything is so expensive. 😢

I have fine motor skill problems. This vividly reminds me of something I would be forced to play in occupational therapy so that I could struggle with the templates to test/improve my motor skills. If I played it as an adult, I would just have someone operate the templates for me, but being such a simple game, I’m not sure it would be worth the trouble

I think you should do picture in picture or something when you're cutting to mike. This feels very jarring every time it cuts as it is now.

Are these filmed concurrently live with Mike? Or does he film separately and send in to be combined when you film in the studio?

There's very few times that I look at a game and think it could have been better with an integrated app but this is one of those times. Augmented reality using your phone/tablet camera, it could not only show you where to move without the need for templates but also automatically indicate what's in frame when taking the picture. Pop a code on the animals somewhere and you can have them (top down) animate if you wanted to.

Almost 2 minutes into the explanation of this game and seeing those templates instantly turned me off to it. I can’t stand tedious fiddling of things like this. Innovative, yeah I guess, but I think it deters from the enjoyment of the game. I’m with Zee on this!

I'm going to voice an unpopular opinion: the dimensions of the Redwood Big Box are stupid. Same with the Terraforming Mars Big Box. It should be half the depth and double the width. I don't care about Kallax owners, get a better shelf for crying out loud! Seriously, stop it with the Kallax worship in this hobby. It's a bad, inflexible shelf.

I vote for standardized box sizes. I hate it when the box is 1/4” different from all the other boxes.

@Poiuytrew.Q The dimensions of a game box should be in service of the game that's inside it, not in service of a random brand of shelves that some people use.

Retailers also prefer standardized sizing. Makes it easier to create and set planograms. So despite your vitriol for Kallax, countless companies across consumer goods build for a package size, not the other way around.

Totally agree... this trend to worship the Kallax system (which actually is far more limiting than it is flexible) is bad for the hobby. Not withstanding the fact that the Kallax system is used by a (vocal) minority of gamers, the game box size standardization, which it's forcing, is going to have a watering down effect on the hobby. You can't have as many great designer products if the design must be first and foremost constrained by its packaging. Let the game's design drive the size of the box. Not the other way around!
