Reef A Palooza Orlando 2019 : Product Spotlight Abex Xepta

Time of automated tanks are approaching fast and making their Reef A Palooza Orlando debut was Abex Xepta automated tester presented in CoralVue booth. This unit was fascinating to me because it was using mostly ionic probes instead of reagent based automatic testers that was being released in the market for last couple of years. I sat down with Carlos Chacon of CVTV to talk about this product and to learn everything about this unit and I tried my best to ask the right questions for you guys. What do you guys think? @@masonj19 yea, they sure did. I think ionic probes are finickier then they anticipated. I spoke to the owner of GHL who designed his own and they are on 15th revision of the probe.

Check out mastertronic. It's out now and checks phosphate and also distributed by coralvue.

@@Reefscom but i expensive and you need to use normal tests, less precise I think, it is big and not included dosing pumps. But yes I think it is the only option available on the market

@@tomg5405 all of these machines are fairly expensive and none of them comes with a dosers. On accuracy, I just did a comparison with triton ICP and I got 0.0002 difference on phosphate. I think that's really good wouldn't you agree?

Distance from tank? How many mL per test. How much waist? Cloud based or does it work on a App? Apex Compatible? How long do reference solutions last? All good questions to ask

indeed! cloud based, not apex compatibility that I am aware of. Reference solution should last 2-3 years if my memory serves me correctly. Dont know about the distance from the tank and the mL per test. Because it is probe based (accept dKh), I think you can put the waste water back into the system. But i will find out more information down the road.
