It's been a while since we looked at my 210 gallon Reef Tank. Here's how things are going.

Been following you for many years Scott- You say you aren't "depressed", but you clearly define depression by continually stating that you don't have the same interests, or ambition, you convey a lot of pessimism but in an upward inflection. I don't want to get personal, I don't know if you are still with your wife and son, but I wish you all the best. You may feel apprehensive about seeing a doctor, but maybe it wouldn't hurt, unless of course you are seeing one. Depression isn't something to sit on, or hope that it goes away... Sometimes it's a clinical issue that requires assistance... Your videos helped me out a great bit back in the day, and I enjoyed them alongside my own 180gal and 90gal tanks. Be well my friend 👑✌️

I, for one, would be totally ok with yearly (or whatever) updates, you've already given us so much knowledge and help. Don't forget, you've literally helped thousands of people!! How many of us can say that. And on top of that, you've achieved what all of us in the reefing hobby wants... an absolutely stunning reef. It's important to remind ourselves sometimes of all the awesomeness we achieved, the negatives can wait their turn 😉

Good to see you man. My passion for the hobby fluctuates as well. Sometimes I'm all in, scraping glass daily, going to the shops weekly. Other times I let the algae build up for 3 weeks and just do the bare minimum for my tank to get by (fish and corals still healthy and fed of course). I had almost completely given it up until Jake passed away; but that unfortunate event (especially for people like you and I who knew him personally) I got sucked back into the hobby. Now I get to go to the studio to help Jack out when he needs it, which makes me love it that much more. Keep doing what's best for you. Don't listen to what anyone else says. If you upload videos every now and then, that is just a bonus for us. Wishing you the best! - Zach the Coral Cowboy

Great overview by the way. SoUnds like and looks like you are doing well. To bad about the bubble coral. That fox coral and the clam and the leathers look amazing. You are a great example that a tank does not have to be all sps or acros to look amazing.

Great to see the tanks and hear from you, Scott. I understand the changes in passion. It's great to see that the tank is running steady and that you have a solid brood stock of the corals you enjoy. The cost of tank upkeep has become a bit out of control. It really is hard to keep the fire burning when it is costing you everything you have. Take care of yourself and that mental health! That is what's most important. Share the cartoon when you get the time. I would definitely love to see it! I am just finding my way back and rediscovering my passion for certain hobbies. Though, like you... I am trying / having to focus more on adulting right now and that takes the majority of time, energy, and finances. I guess what I am saying is... Know that you're not alone in this and have many people who can relate to your situation. Myself included. Always a pleasure seeing/hearing from you. Stay up and may your passions be reignited!

Good to see you back, you have some beautiful aquaria. I had an accident a few years back that destroyed something I have dreamt about and wanted to do all my life. I got to the stage of doing my dream then bam, it was gone. I went through some seriously dark times after that. As my old father said (and I hated him for saying it at the time) one door closes and another one opens and you know he was right.
