A very methodological and studied approach to your reef. Which looks great. Looking forward to seeing how this develops.

Your tank is looking great! I'm glad the tin issues didn't cause any lasting issues for you. It's annoying that it's back, but maybe it's not causing issues? I have mystery copper in my tank 😥 Things seem to be growing really well for you and the color is great!

Good info. I got the same mulm, sludge or whatever you want to call it with nopox. Works great as you you stated though. I also like chemiclean. Believe it or not I used it on Dinos and it work. Good video. Thanks. Your tank looks great.

Great video. I have made a lot of changes at once also. I got a calcium reactor for the first time as well as an APEX. What I found interesting is a lot of people say a calcium reactor doses both major and minor elements but per your Triton test things were lacking. I did use the color program about a year and a half ago before I did Triton. Honestly I did not notice too much difference either positive or negative. Some things looked better some didn't. I'm curious to see how you do with the kalk reactor. I have one that's not online but my add it. Right now I'm running the calcium reactor and dosing the rest of my Triton bottles trying to ween my system off it without shocking everything. Plus still don't have the reactor dialed in. I'm really interested in your progress. Keep up the good work.
@ThaBiznessReefTank6 жыл бұрын
The kalk reactor has been online a few days now and almost tuned in with the CaRx. pH is higher than its ever been. I think the CaRx does do trace but only the trace thats locked into the skeleton and not whats in the flesh. Im waiting for BRS to confirm it in a investigates video.
@ArrickthaRed6 жыл бұрын
I'm waiting to see that as well. Maybe in the future there will be a trace element solution that supplements calcium reactors without having to dose the other things you don't need.
@ThaBiznessReefTank6 жыл бұрын
That would be great! I don't dose the potassium part and there are more that I have to test to make sure I don't OD the tank.
@Davelembo6 жыл бұрын
Great update Bryan. Amazing help we all do a lot of the same things and a lot of different things. Curious if you've ever dosed kalkwasser while having a problem with tin. I only ask because kalkwasser is supposed to precipitate metals from the water column.
@ThaBiznessReefTank6 жыл бұрын
I have never used Kalk except to kill aptasia but I have heard the same thing. I'm interested in seeing what kalk does in this system. I am almost tuned in with the kalk reactor and the CaRx. pH is highest its ever been.

Tank is looking awesome, vid is always on point, had a little tin , never thought twice about it, aluminum though, got rid of marine pure blocks, have to double check, never had a red dragon survive a ride home from a frag swap, I luv nopox but recently switched off to Prodibio, more expensive but dose twice a month without any white slim, might try the refuge again, so no more carbon dosing ?
@ThaBiznessReefTank6 жыл бұрын
I'm dosing NoPox which is a form of carbon dosing.
@user-en9hq4zv3s5 жыл бұрын
just out of curiosity..what all do you have down there taking up room? that tank looks gigantic. i'm an amateur, but i've seen a LOT of interesting style sumps in the past few years that are just night/day difference in form factor. i've seen cubes, i've also seen one that is sortof a two-story vertical sump.
@ThaBiznessReefTank5 жыл бұрын
The displays are 180g and 30g. Sump is 40b. I have returns, skimmer, ato, uv, 2 heaters in sump
@retroreefs79866 жыл бұрын
Hey biz when you started the nopox did you dose as directed or did you start w a half dose or other?
@ThaBiznessReefTank6 жыл бұрын
I dosed as directed. Its probably why the slime came in. I have heard to do half dose but I am hard headed and live by the seat of my pants sometimes. I am use to the slime from dosing other carbon sources in the past. It doesn't bother anything in the amount I have and just looks ugly when I turn off and back on the return pump.

When you stopped dose calcium, what lvl did the calcium go down to? How much was before you stopped and how much was after 24 hours? It intrigues me to know how much calcium your Tank consumes in a day.
@ThaBiznessReefTank6 жыл бұрын
I tested both alk and Ca before I shut it off the CaRx and 24 hrs later when I turned it back on. I lost 5 ppm Ca in 24 hrs.

@@ThaBiznessReefTank Thumbs up for the reply, but man that stinks. I have seen high Tin in several of the tanks we work on. Starting to think it will always be there and if I don't see other heavy metals high I'll ignore it if the corals are ok.

Yeah I wonder if we just know about it because how easy ICP is these days.....
