For the results you are chasing, the solution, 2 Radion XR15 Gen 5/6 pro and the 2 Kessils you already have. That's also for me, the perfect combo!

Awesome vid. I also run the 2 reefbrite/kessil option (XR30 in the middle flanked by 2 x a360x) in your blooper bit at the end 9 inches off the H2O, and a similar end of day schedule and dig it. I had a T5/kessil rig before going to the current setup, it just was bulkier and put off more heat and I liked the pop better w/the newer setup. Been running it about 8 mo's now and sps growth is killer.

I've got a evergrow IT 5080 V2 Pro with an upgraded chip over my 5X2X2 and it still looks great and no issues with my coral!

I probably should learn to hang lights! I think mounting options are one of the biggest factors and when I do a new tank I am getting the Stellar (in white) and I think it looks fine - much better than the Radion mounting option. For acros I'm gonna get a 6500k bulb too - maybe with a 16k or something (plus a blue+ and an actinic) and just use the LEDs for the blues. I'm happy with a yellow tank for part of the day just as long as it's really popping at night ;)

I've just swapped my xr30 pro G3 out for a xr15 blue G6, at £400 it actually worked out good value as it offers way more coverage over my 2ft cube than the xr30 g3s and finally have proper shimmer and no more disco ball affect. Think I might add an led bar of some description to give a whiter look in the middle of the day though :)

Great work on the lights, just saved me a fortune! Separately, I see your tank is entirely clear of nuisance algae, but your fox face is looking a little thin. My foxface is plump on 4x daily New Spectrum pellets, brine and mysis, but doesn't touch my hair algae. Coincidence?

Algae grows in places the fish can't reach. But he's been looking thin for a while having looked fine for years. Annoying when they don't eat algae though! I just need to feed mine more...

I suggest you consider the OR3 Orphek Blue Plus if your into the 'Chernobyl Fallout Effect', more so than the Blue Sky.

Any recommendations on what light I should get for a 40b? My ceiling is very high and curved so I want a mount light, I also want it on the cheap side with good quality and good long term.

Hi Alex, well.....I'm in a similar situation as you were! I have my Red Sea Reefer XL200 with a single Hydra52HD (can't remember who's setting it is), but my coral growth (SPS) is garbage!! I can grow Zoas no issue....but anything else I just can't. Do you think I should go on the x4 T5's "hybrid" route, Guiessmann etc? Love to hear your thoughts.......all the best, Justin

I do like a T5/LED hybrid so I wouldn't necessarily say don't do it. And if you do, you'll know for sure lights aren't the problem. But In my experience, choice of LED is rarely the limiting factor in SPS growth, so i'd probably look elsewhere first...

Hello, I have been subbed to your channel for a while, and love watching your videos (if they are not plain hardware reviews at least). But there is one thing that I would love to see when you go over fish, invertebrates or corals. Often, you use the english 'trivial names' for something, but I would absolutely love it if you added the scientific term in subtitle, where possible. An example is the 'Octospawn'. In Germany, its 'trivial name' translates to 'Frog Spawn Coral'. It is a Fimbriaphyllia paradivisa, also often sold as Euphilia paradivisa. I understand that you are not linking to a specific vendor, but having the actual scientific name will make it easier to find them, because it doesn't rely on finding an english store which happens to actually add the scientific name.

Haven't tested buy they'll probably have dropped ever so slightly because of the raised height...
