Reel Life at Farm Sanctuary Series
Episode One: Pasture Rotation
Our Reel Life at Farm Sanctuary video series, featured on our popular "Sanctuary Tails" blog at www.farmsanctuary.typepad.com/... gives you an exclusive sneak peek behind our barn doors and transports you straight to our beautiful, bustling sanctuaries where you'll follow the activities of our shelter staff and animal residents as they carry out their daily routines. You are sure to be captivated, delighted and moved by all that you learn and see! In this our first exciting episode, National Shelter Director Susie Coston explains the importance of pasture rotation and takes you right along as she shows the New York Shelter cattle, sheep and goats that the grass really is greener in different parts of the farm. You definitely won't want to miss this chance to see our cute farm animal friends frolicking in the fields!

I'll never get tired of seeing these wonderful animals actually being allowed to live a real life. Thank you to all the staff for all their hard work. You guys do such a great job and you obviously love doing it (I know I would if I worked there)

the meat and dairy industry want us to believe that these animals are somehow different than a cat or dog, but clearly they are not. Everyone needs to go vegan so that the factory farms are shut down forever!! Thank you farm sanctuary for all your wonderful videos showing these beautiful creatures.

@@tanyafreeman1853 , lambs and sheep are beautiful souls. They are the most happy, playful, peaceful, pure, and innocent animals. I love the way they leap also. Lambs and sheep seem very happy and affectionate, as long as they're with people being kind to them and keeping them safe, and they're not going to those horrible factory farms where they're abused, neglected, and sent to slaughter. They are animals who treat people the same way people treat them. I'm sure that you agree with me on this; more people need to be kind to lambs and sheep

@@tanyafreeman1853 , you bet. Thank you for being a very kind person also. Doesn't it also really hurt you inside after seeing lambs playing, leaping, and ba-a-a-aing so happily and innocently, you know what is happening to so many of them? It's just about making me cry how it's happening to so many of these gentle, pure, and peaceful little animals. Even their ba-a-a-a-ing sounds so peaceful and soul soothing. I know that many people today don't have that side to them that we have, the side which gives one the ability to feel empathy and compassion for those who have plenty of it themselves. And lambs and sheep have plenty of it themselves

@@alvexok5523 I know Allen it blows my mind how far removed we are from where we should be. We are the only mammal that over consumes that destroys and that go to war. Its utterly disgusting and I'm ashamed of the conglomerates making money mindlessly and destroying the earth. We should be guardians looking after the planet not caring about man made money and economy that just makes 1% the richest and who destroy the plant and cause unfathomable suffering in their wake xx

Neat to see the cattle come when called, not forced by being abused somehow. They are smarter than many give them credit for. Animals care for each other and have such better spirit the so many humans do. Love this video.

I agree with you completely. Lambs and sheep are the most peaceful, happy, playful, pure, and innocent animals there are. They will almost always be that way when they're with people showing them compassion and keeping them safe and happy. Peaceful, playful, and affectionate is how lambs and sheep naturally are by nature, and are only not so when being abused and neglected on factory farms and being sent to slaughter. Message for everyone: save these wonderful animals, stop mistreating them and stop slaughtering them!!

@@infiniteawareness3452 , No problem. That's great. I knew I wasn't the only one who saw lambs and sheep that way. Also, their "ba-a-a-a-s" are a peaceful sound showing the pure souls they have. It's not just the factory farms and slaughter houses, but I've also seen on a couple sites how dead lambs were found from being savaged by dogs and wolves. Those poor little animals have too many forces against them. This is what has gotten me to feel such a deep love and sympathy for them. Puppies are pure and innocent too, and I love them too, but the deep sympathy love that I feel for lambs and sheep aren't there because far fewer puppies are being killed and mistreated. I would feel the same way about them too if they had what the lambs and sheep have. Both puppies and lambs have the same kind of peaceful playful characteristics, but I don't understand why lambs don't get the same recognitions of being allowed to live and be treated kindly

Everyone deserves the right to live this wonderful life! Our fellow humans and animals alike. I have to constantly remind myself that veganism is pro-human also. Poor people can be fed without the slaughter of animals, and the spread of grains, fruits, vegetables and other wholesome food! Freedom and love for all! :)

It is horrible seeing that. I've only watched slaughterhouse videos because I want to know the truth on what's really going on, and it's too difficult to pretend that it isn't happening. But, I hate it so much! More lambs and sheep should be allowed to live and be treated with kindness. What's happened to so many of them is why I have such a deep love and sympathy for these animals

i visited farm sanctuary and i believe they shear them under certain circumstances such as medical reasons, if necessary but not as a practice and they definitely do not harvest the wool. the entire philosophy is to let animals live as naturally as possible, without being used in any way.

I have quite literally zero experience tending to farm animals (I don't think I've ever been within a mile of a cow) so excuse my ignorance, but why are the animals kept inside barns at times? Is keeping them outside 24/7 not practical? Is it not harmful to them in any way to keep them inside?

do you breed these animals? i would think not so that you have more room for other abused animals you want to rescue? sanctuaries and online web cam of animals in their natural habitats are the only way as far as i am concerned. theme parks, zoos, sidewalk & backyard zoos, pet shops, mills should all be a thing of the past. adoption is and always has been my way

This is hobby farming. Everyone enjoys what you've portrayed in this video but it isn't realistic or self sufficient. While you're collecting donations playing farmer, actual farmers are out there supplying food to feed the masses. Farmers don't have volunteers or a website with a donation tab. Sorry but it's true.
