Chuck Daniel plays the lead role as A.J. Fox. I cannot seem to find any info on him or updated photos. I pray he is doing fine. The woman playing the mother is Juanita Moore, born 1914 and passed away in 2014. This film also goes under the title: Fox Style Killer. The film was released in June, 1973.

I wanna thank you 4 showing these Classic Movies. it's a shame how a lot of these movies were labeled blaxploitation films. a lot of people looked down at these movies. granted some of them were bad, but a lot of them were made by us. in that period from the late 60s to the late 70s a lot of black people were getting work behind the camera's . as as well as in front of it. l was born in 65 so l was too young to fully understand the full impact that these movies had on our culture. now as a grown ass man l can appreciate & really enjoy these movies. thank you for this gift of Cinematic Treasures.

This was actually a sweet, uplifting little movie, which is especially surprising considering the time it was made. It lacks the bitterness, resentment, and cynicism often seen in black movies of that period. My only complaint is it appears that the N-word has been excised from this print, which kind of takes the punch out of some of the dialogue. We know who the bad guys are. It's okay to have bad people say bad things. But otherwise, I really liked this! Thank you for posting it!

101:57 bad edit: goes from lady being cool and receptive to the citronella, then the lady is offended like the dude felt her up or something. Hope to find the outtake for this section. The characters dialogue and action that fills in the gap between calm to mild freakout would make that scene pop, possibly in a comedic way.

This is an excellent film. I was a little boy in 1973. From a perspective of social and economic examination, this film does demonstrate how black pastors are often the enabling sources for much of the dysfunction currently seen in black communities.

@J Peavy 100% correct. If I recall correctly she used the term The Federation as it concerned such so called pastors that were being selected to enable their agendas inside of black communities. Many pastors were also identified as trouble makers and they were avoided by Sanger and her ilk.
