As a man who stands under the blood of Jesus, I understand what it meant for him to change his bloodline: so the white people had no fear of a legacy from him while seemly knowledgeable or was it a sell out? look at Sidney P. All he had was Opra in the end where are thier black desendants? Where is their black money. Black is a noun.

Thank you for sharing this film. What a concept, screenplay, strong performances, and then there is our Mr. Jones!!! His gift of delivery.. .astonishing and Briiliant!!! In watching the opening credits, I learned that Rod Serling wrote the screenplay. Was this released the summer before the 1972 election?? I am surprised it was released. A lot of foreshadowing for sure. ✌🏿& 🧡

Wow! What a treat, I never even heard of this film, but am not surprised, Rod Serling has something to do with it! He was a visionary, who always turned the tables on Societal norms! Wonder, whether there is a film conceived about the Trump years & his refusal to concede his loss, for the Presidency, when Biden was elected in 2020. If there is, I do hope someone will post/upload it for all of Us. Thanks for this. I am also re-watching the bio film on Richard Nixon, directed by Oliver Stone, as I watched a video online, in which he talked about that era. Much appreciated. R.I.P. James Earl Jones, a fine actor, who passed away recently - a great loss. ---------- Psalms 27.

Because of the great James Earl Jones passing yesterday, I watched "The Man" this morning after putting it in my "Watch Later" queue ironically just last week. I have watched this film three times in the past 50+ years, the first being when I saw it rerun on ABC's Movie Of The Week in 1974. But this morning's viewing was the only time that I fully understood what it all meant. And oh yeah! I could've just heard my mother lightin' up "Mrs Eaton" at that dinner party... (Whistling in crescendo) That was when my late mother was at her best, and if someone cut their eyes at her or said something backhanded, that would've been seeing her at her worst... And PLEASE don't let her have a couple of sips of wine... LORD HAVE MERCY!

Wow. I saw this in a movie theater in Boston, somewhere around the end of summer, beginning of autumn of 1976. The man's daughter is an "Angela Davis black activist" type. Father/daughter contending at times in addition to the oval office and the body politic storyline. I'm putting this aside in my watch later file. I will reminisce. Thank you for keeping this archive. I was eighteen at the time... I turned sixty-six this summer . WOW.

Yes, not only that, but James Earl Jones remind me of when Obama was elected. Even though I've always felt that the Presidents job is the hardest job, and I wouldn't want it, but I always felt that those who chose it wanted it. Even though James Earl Jones was just an interim president I thought he would be e 16:56 lated to hold that position, and was very surprised to see his response and nervous ness. That's when he reminded me of Obama how he was placed in a presidency expected to be some miracle worker, trying to put back together a train wreck, America was in. Although Obama, smilingly and confidently did a very fine job to me. I'll get back to the movie and hope it ends triumphantly. I had to pause from watching for a minute, when he cried at the fireplace. I am so use to seeing James Earl Jones in movies where he's so strong and beautiful, so that was a little hard to take. But I know it's real life, and you can't be strong all the time. Rest in Power, James Earl Jones✌️❤️🙏🏽🎶🌹

James Earl Jones was a great actor and a great human being and also a great philanthropist as well as mentor to a great many people. This movie I consider it to be one of his greatest pieces of work even though it was of its times of 1972 but it showed us a future that many of us were children of the times would have never thought that within the span of almost 60 years we would see ever again the first movie in the history of this nation and of this world of a black man becoming president of the United States of America. Now ask yourself this question why hasn't this movie ever been read surfaced to show a whole new generation of black Americans???

Jones said of this movie, when they first made it it was to be a tv movie, so not as much production value. They ended up putting it out in cinemas, and if they would've known that they would've spent more time on it, and more money
