Terrific throwback to 1970s crime dramas

I remember first watching Nicholas Hoult in "About a Boy", and wonder why he isn't a more "popular" actor today because I think he is really good

I think he is really shy and awkward in person.

Watched The Order a few hours ago and really loved it. Very strong from the filmmaking aspect. The directing, the cinematography, the acting, the script, the soundtrack - everything is on high level. Reminded me of Mindhunter and True Detective

Maybe it’s because REELBLEND STARTED AS AN AWARDS PODCAST, but a big ReelBlend episode in the Winter just feels right.

This might be my favorite movie of the year. Just fantastic in every way. I love that it feels like a movie that would've come out in the 70's.

Such a bummer that Dune Part Two came out in March. It’s still head and shoulders above everything else in contention that I’ve seen (I still need to see The Brutalist)

Wicked winning Best Picture would be the most ridiculous win since Green Book.

If Dune 2 was dropped near the end of the year it would win for sure. It deserves to win.

Hey Sean, did you ever get around to watching Challengers? It's one of my faves of the the year and I know that Kevin, Gabe and (I think) Jake dug it as well.

I did! Really liked it. Great performances, and a killer score. I thought all three were fantastic.

Remember Nicolas hoult from single man kinda before it’s time.

I think people need to read Queer the novel before watching the movie, even the way the book was written, makes sense why the scenes or chapters jumped in kind of “random” ways, since the book is based on Burroughs unfinished manuscripts for this book and letters. In fact, his mom’s last name is Lee, and he used it for his main characters name. Also Queer is part of a sequel from a previous novel called “Junkie” which makes more sense why he is a drug addicted. Personally, the movie was exactly what I was expecting!

Dune: Part Two is still my pick for BP. I knew this would happen in March that people would forget about it or forget about how much and how many people loved it. I wouldn't be mad about Anora winning however. I would be mad about Wicked though.

I think Wicked and Dune: Part II sweep the technical categories, I don’t think either one wins any of the big categories. I’m guessing Conclave or Anora wins. Anora shouldn’t get any Oscar nominations, except maybe Mikey Madison. That movie was not good.

With all the category fraud and rules not mattering, just give Best Picture to Interstellar since it's back in theaters

Disney and Pixar are still making direct to DVD films. Moana 2 is proof of that.

No way Wicked beats Dune 2 for best picture. Sorry Jake.
