The DCEU is such a fascinating case for the last decade. It began with Warner Bros trying to catch up with the MCU during its growing rise in popularity, started off as Zack Snyder’s thing, then they lost faith in him and completely sabotaged with Justice League, David Ayer or Joss Whedon wasn’t any better. Then it was just four years of random movies, while at the same time trying to internally soft reboot itself countless times. Then it became The Rocks thing for like a year and that blew up in his face because his ego won’t allow him to be a villain who loses to a 14 year old kid. Despite what people thought when the Snyder Cut for the Justice League came out, they were never gonna bring that back whatsoever. Then it all finally ended in a whimper with The Flash and the rest of the other movies that people stopped caring about because of the WBD merger, canceling all their projects and future plans including the Batgirl movie, being written as Tax Write Offs. Lastly because of the DCU reboot announcement by James Gunn, they just didn’t see the point in watching Shazam 2, Aquaman 2, and Blue Beetle because the reboot was on the horizon, plus those movies were just the last leftovers to when DC was throwing stuff at the wall, and now here we are. Good luck, James Gunn, you’re gonna need it. Hopefully the League will be in better hands now.

DC should seriously learn how to give other characters the spotlight other than Batman. Characters like Plastic Man, Fire Storm, Steel, Black Lightning and Booster Gold are so underrated in my opinion. I don’t mind getting Batman stories at all but if you only focus on one character and neglect the rest, then what’s the use of owning them if all you do is ignore them. It'd be one thing if they were just all clueless and got manipulated. The fact the ambassador whose whole job is to operate in good faith said it was an obvious trap and they fell into the obvious trap anyway just makes it extra dumb. It's bad when you say the character is smart and they do dumb things, it's worse when the character tells you they're smart enough not to do what they know is a dumb thing and does it anyway. Maybe Derek Powers goes back in time to make himself rich off of Brainiac and Veronica Cale wants in, but things go horribly wrong. The heroes are competent, they just didn't account for time travel and treachery among the people they would have protected.

I feel like people view supes and even his fights that seemingly come down to strength the wrong way. Doomsday’s whole fight (not BVS) when you break it down is really just the most iconic showing of Superman’s “can’t back down” attitude. His will to protect those who cannot protect themselves driven to its limit. It’s the perfect showing of how willing Superman is to protect humanity. When it comes down to it, it’s a story about a man looking the unstoppable in the face and saying “enough”. Then, he dies in the ultimate sacrifice inspiring others to rise up to continue his dream of a better tomorrow. People obsess with the power scaling so much they seem to forget the sheer HOPE that even Superman’s greatest “brawls” are directly tied to. I can’t wait for the Superman movie. I think the fandom has been so oversaturated with heroes focused on vengeance, grit, etc. Superman is exactly what we need to get DC fans back on the right track. Not just with cool fights, but with that boundless hope and optimism that Superman represents. I don’t want realism, I want to believe a man can fly. I want a dream. Just don't make him another watered-down Batman clone like how Arrowverse did with him but make him closer to JLU Green Arrow. Ra's Al Ghul would NEVER look at Oliver to be his heir. If anyone's interested I suggest reading the aquaman run for dc rebirth. It made me genuinely love the character because the premise for the the first major arc is the fact that people like Aquaman but don't necessarily respect him the way they do with Batman/Superman/ Wonder Woman and it has him showing exactly why he's a hero.

I think Flash needing a whole team to deal with his villains is fine if one remembers most Flash villains are themselves supposed to work as a team. Captain Cold doesn't just threaten Barry Allen by himself, but he shows up with Heatwave, Boomerang, Mirror Master all at the same time, and then The Flash has some issues.

I’m not an aquaman stan but I wish they leaned into the momoa angle. It was the most successful dceu project and I think that origin for aquaman should stick around. Nothing wrong with white aquaman but I would loveeee more pacific islander aquaman. “HeS kInG oF aTlAnTiS” and wouldn’t that be interesting to have commitments to each of the biggest oceans and eventually balancing the “whole” ocean with justice league duties. Aquaman need more chances to shine. Hopefully the new ongoing coming next year will be good.

2:47 they did hint to Diggle taking on his step dad's last name "Stewart" after John finds out that his biological father wasn't exactly the army hero he thought he was. It is crazy to me how much they were setting up Diggle to become the arrowverse's version of John much like how Thea Queen is basically the arrowverse's version of Mia Dearden and it all got thrown away because the arrowverse simply ended and there'd be no point in establishing a green lantern for a 4 second cameo of John floating in the air. Makes me wonder though on what would've happened with Diggle in the comics if this did end up happening? Would he just be forgotten in the next crisis? Would Oliver now be chummy with TWO Green Lanterns?

DC literally launched a new Justice League book last week. I blame the normies. (Non-comic readers/movie & meme fans) The moment yall hype a character up through social media, the execs throw all their eggs in one basket. Happened with Avengers in 2012, then Guardians of the Galaxy & Suicice Squad after 2014, recently its been Venom, Loki now Deadpool again. Walk into any comicbook shop or convention and you see Harley & Deadpool merch & cosplay everywhere. So on paper a vulgar, 4th wall breaking, bloody violent Suicide Squad game makes sense 🤷 Unfortunately comic readers & gamers aren't the same kind of fans as the meme-culture Harley & Deadpool cosplayers who were being targeted.

I agree that WB should've switched Batman out for Wonder Woman in the Justice League: Dark movie. It's like they don't read comics before they put stuff out. I wonder how many of them know that Wonder Woman is a magic-base hero. Do better DC/WB, and read your comic books!
