A sincere apology in advance: Jared twice misstates Preston's name as "Prescott," perhaps having in mind William Prescott, another notable of Revolutionary Boston. To compensate for this silly mistake, we present you Preston's account of the Boston incident in his own words: www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/active_learning/explorations/revolution/account1.cfm Carry on.

The tendency for many, if not most, Americans to think that these shows and movies ("based" on "real " events) are accurate depictions of such events in history reminds me of the real value of your works. My sincere thanks for your services. I look forward to more Reel History.

I've lost count of the number of discussions (usually in KZbin comments with my American 'cousins') in which I point out that the historical epsiode we are discussing was badly served by Hollywood, and their response would be along the lines of "of course Hollywood isn't accurate, we know that, we're not stupid, but about the [insert fictional scene here]... that really happened!" Er, no, it didn't...

A work of historical fiction doesn't need to be "accurate", it needs to be believable. And the show did that very well! In fact, I should rewatch it one day, excellent show overall.

Very well done. When it comes to Hollywood making a movie based on "real events," keep these two (2) things in mind: (1) "Based on" is a relative term. 'I'm going to base my story on a real event, but I will exercise my right of "artistic interpretation." (2) Hollywood never tells 'the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth' in anything dealing with real events - especially American history.

Please review Manhunt about the investigation following the Lincoln assassination. It started out interesting, but quickly devolved into the Rockford Files with Secretary of War Stanton running around personally investigating the case. The only thing missing is the gold Firebird, his father Rocky, a beach trailer, and his prison-buddy Angel getting him beaten up by mafia-thugs.

This got me thinking, that the only other time I've seen this event in motion was in Assassin's Creed 3, and the way it's presented there, it only seems like 8 or maybe even fewer soldiers did the shooting. Do you happen to know numbers? Like how many soldiers were present and how big the mob actually was?

Eight soldiers and about 300 protesters.

This is a weird coincidence - I was just watching last night the episode 'Liberty' of Billions Season 5 in which Paul Giamatti's New York Attorney General Chuck Rhoades had shaved off his goatee and was holding his traditional annual "Jefferson dinner" at his home - I thought... oh hello... it's John Adams reborn! The dinner was also an occasion to plot the demise of Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis - a British actor) with a conspiracy of dubious legality between like-minded allies, and also under 2021 Covid conditions with some attending the dinner by Zoom. The final scene of that episode is also unusual in which Chuck is making eggs for breakfast for his young daughter and business ally from the previous evening's dinner, Mike Prince (Corey Stoll), in a scene in which we watch him make the eggs without any dialogue between the three characters aound the kitchen table. Apparently, this scene is a homage to the final scene in Big Night (1996), even using the same camera angles and blocking.

Let us all remember the most fundamental event. A lawyer in Massachusetts decided to defend British soldiers in a hotbed of disapproval of their presence. He did this with greatest legal endeavor and succeeded. My belief is that the acquittal of those British soldiers by an American brought a glimmer of doubt of what they were against in colonial America. There must be an answer somewhere, but, has anywhere in history there been an instance of defense of the notion of fairness before the law.
