Thabks Captain Mike this knot is so simple and VERY strong! Made only 4 turns on it and caught a 12lb Barracuda! 🎣

I appreciate your informative videos I have learned a lot watching your videos and salty scales captain Taylor's. I have a new found passion for fishing and recently formed local wounded veteran fishing crew. We all watch KZbin to educate ourselves and it's made our trips more successful

New angler here. This knot has come loose on me on a few occasions causing me to lose fish. Any suggestions? I’m using 20-lb fluoro leaders.

Make sure to pull tight and leave a tag end for slippage.

Can not beat the UNI KNOT. Beginners should hold the hood with pliers for safety sake

From the tests I’ve seen done the orvis knot is easier to tie and stronger as well as the palomar knot
@theblake53565 жыл бұрын
Yep.... the Uni-Knot(or ‘Hangman’s Knot’) is what I use most often.
@hungnmiami5 жыл бұрын
In my opinion I think the Palomar is easier and stronger
@Chris-fo8wp5 жыл бұрын
Uni and Palomar are the only 2 you need to know....
@hungnmiami5 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-fo8wp I've had the uni Come Undone on me before but it is impossible for that Palomar to come back through the eye of the hook

I hope Someone will give me a jigging rod setup so that I can try.
@crowman59365 жыл бұрын
Better yet go out a buy yourself a jigging rod setup. There's no jigging rod welfare stamps.

DO NOT ever use the "clinch" or "improved clinch" ... sometimes called the Fisherman's Knot. It is a cruel practical joke that has been played on anglers for decades. Avoid knots that jam any portion of the tag end against the hook eye.
@lukemix64635 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t agree more John! This was the first knot I learned how to tie and it cost me a couple really nice fish before I realized the clinch knot was complete shit.
@luckycraftdave10655 жыл бұрын
I agree as well. The fisherman’s knot really disappointed me
