Hey Sgt! Been awhile! Very nice video! So our unit has an artillery forge and 2 blacksmiths. We found and purchased 2 antique froe heads a couple years ago and refinished them with new handles based on your video. They work great to make kindling in camp. Thanks!

You should talk about roles of a drummer

A bugler for the sharpshooters perhaps, but not a drummer. I know of Calvin Morse Jr., who was a bugler in the 1st U.S. Sharpshooters.

Glue will bond stronger than the wood. There are some pretty cool test videos on that on KZbin, too.

"Tools in the Civil War were new, and should be in like new condition." AMEN!! I did artillery and nothing was worse than seeing a battery of bronze 12lbers Napoleons that were green with corrosion. The Army made time to keep their equipment in usable condition, or they were in dereliction of duty. Decay; is not maintaining your equipment. My battery had 3 inch ordinance rifles. Our gun tubes and carriages were kept painted!
