It also needs to be remembered that had he not died in the Apollo 1 fire, Gus Grissom would likely have been the first man to walk on the moon.

Welcome back to the final frontier Devin, thanks for another utterly fascinating history lesson as well as giving us all a gripping and hypnotic episode. The parachutes used by Nasa have always been very attractive to me, a mix of firey orange and white - I remember seeing a paratrooper drop at an air show a few years back and briefly thinking that they we're Nasa 'chutes, it was just the way they appeared at first.. but that's what I thought they were using. Great episode, the game looks utterly amazing, looking forward to more epic content on the channel. Stay safe and happy gaming mate 👍

You left out a bit more evidence to say that grissom didn't panic. I forget on what flight, but after a following capsule was recovered, the astronaut stayed in and pressed the hatch eject button once folks were clear. He then showed the flight surgeon that painful bruise he had gotten from pressing the button. Grissom had no such bruise, and this again proves he did not eject the hatch in panic.

Absolutely correct. It was Wally Schirra in Sigma 7, on Mercury Atlas 8. He purposely waited for the capsule to be on board the carrier and in full view of the public to blow the hatch, injuring his hand as you mentioned.
