This show wasn't HALF as crude as it would have you think-- it was a genuinely SMART show about FAIRLY smart characters who had a lot of crude TRAITS in spite of themselves. Got to hand it to Reese for smarts in this episode. Not only did he have more insight than Malcolm to pick up that Jessica was saying he's gay, but he worked better with the gay dance and the gay movie thing was pretty nice if he watched about a dozen of those for him while Malcolm just got a pamphlet. sure the pamphlet seems well thought out but he could just read it and be done while Reese put in effort for watching gay movies. the cherry on top was the hickey plan, he knew Lois was way too controlling of Malcolm to ever have a girlfriend she didn't approve of. he came up with that plan in one second on the spot too. well done Reese 👏👏👏👏👏🙌 Edit: also the vendetta was pretty funny too, who knew Reese knew what vendetta meant
@SynthApprentice3 жыл бұрын
Reese might not be as smart as his brothers, but he's still pretty smart. Louis and Hal just gave up on him when they saw that his role model was Francis, so he gave up on himself when he learned that he couldn't ever do anything to stop them from seeing him as a delinquent.
@haydenthornton52383 жыл бұрын
@@SynthApprentice no one should have given up on Reese. I'll admit he is a huge trouble maker and not academically brilliant, but he has provn himself to be a cullinary genius for cooking skills, comes up with really fun games (old mrs old for reference from malcolm), and in moments like this episode has proven, can be brilliant on the spot. his main problem is that he isn't motivated to do well. when he moved out in Kicked Out he did better with his grades simply because he actually focused. his life skills were terrible because he spent so much money on things he didn't need, like buying new clothes instead of washing his ones, a gong in his bathroom, and a new fridge just for the ice or something dumb like that. Reese just needs proper motivation with some common sense thrown in and he can do well for himself.
@ladyfire442 жыл бұрын
The differences between Francis and Reese was this. After emancipating himself and leaving Marlin, Francis learned a lot of life lessons while in Alaska. He started maturing by saving his money and became an actual adult. He defended Pete and let Artie and Eric know how their prank hurt his feelings. Late season 3 and into season 4 gave Francis the best development because he started growing up into his own person. He realized that despite his fights with Lois, she cared a great deal about him and vice versa. On the other hand, Reese had no intentions of changing his ways. No matter what Lois did to motivate him to be a better person, he was going to be the same delinquent he is. Hal accepted that Reese was hopeless after his last attempt to motivate him in Reese Cooks. It took Lois three tries for her to finally accept that he wasn't going to care about his future and gave up on him. Remember his role model aside Francis(in his rebellious years before season 3) is Ida and he has a lot of her evil traits. So, Hal made arrangements with Hodges to have Reese work at his former school as a janitor. He knew Reese would be happy in a place where he can work hard and enjoy the simple things in life.
