In hindsight, i'm sure the ref would agree the red on the GK was wrong and was just a misunderstanding, but in the heat of the moment it's very hard to tell. This video is absolutely hilarious and it's gonna get viral. IMO, any sort of verbal abuse towards a ref is a red card offense, but the goalkeeper with the green shirt spoke towards the dugout while the ref was communicating with #9 and didn't look at the keeper. Therefore, when the keeper went closer to the ref, there was a clear misunderstanding because the ref fought the comments were directed towards him. For the sub keeper, I think the ref had enough from the rude comments from the dugout and took no excuses after telling the keeper to sit down. Overall, I think the ref was partly at fault, because he was too strict towards the dugout and didn't explain about the first two cards. The red team's behaviour was truly shocking as multiple players and staff were swearing at the ref for giving a freekick (it was a clear push on the back). If they had respected the ref and didn't verbally abuse him, this mess wouldn't have happened in the first place.

@@coyotes4321 The lower leagues have a hard time recruiting refs because of such abuse. No ref, no game. You want to play football? Me too. I play amateur football, and I am a hothead, but I NEVER disrespect the ref. EVER. It's idiotic no matter what the league is. And it's so unnecessary. Like, what do you gain from it? I don't see this ref doing much wrong. He was professional, and the red team were dishing out abuse to a degree I can understand he lost his patience.

As a former referee, I will say that, if every referee did that, at every level, we’d have a better game. And if you want an example, take a look at rugby.
@MrCho14 Жыл бұрын
As a former referee, it's tough for me to 100% agree with you. Honestly, it looks like he went too far just based on what we are able to hear and see. (Don't know what led up to all this.) The one I most question is when he brings a coach to the touchline and that coach is calmly talking to him. I find it difficult to believe there was something red card worthy there. It would have had to have been the calmest racist remark ever on a pitch. The 2nd coach ejected it appears was ordered by the referee to sit down even though the he was just was standing next to the bench. He appears to be ejected for refusing to sit. He should have, after the 2nd card, pulled the captains together and spoken to them. Explain that there will be no more. Instead he chased upset players instead which just made it worse.
@SteveDisenhof Жыл бұрын
We don’t get to see any of the game leading up to this. I’m sure that first red card did not come out of nowhere. Nor did the second or the third. I stand by my statement - if all referees did not allow disrespect from players and coaches, it would be a different game. And again, just watch a rugby match - any rugby match- and note the respect given to the referees.
@MrCho14 Жыл бұрын
@@SteveDisenhof I agree we didn't see the lead up which would be very telling. How the referee handled both coaches seemed odd at best and I think is telling to his attitude in general. Again, we can't hear the audio, but that first one there was zero body language to indicate anything ejection worthy existed. And, yes, rugby has control of the players. That's a general consensus in the sporting world.
@onlyapawn4371 Жыл бұрын
Rugby has better rules though that's why no dissent. In football 5 people can see the same incident and draw different conclusions based on sloppy rules. In football the head of the referees association has apologised for important refereeing mistakes made after the game. I say long live dissent in football until they finally decide what a foul/handball is. 😊

There must be a minimum of 7 players on the field for a team to be able to constitute a game so I would say that 4 players can be sent off and, as they cannot be replaced, if a fifth player on the field is sent off, the game must stop. However that is just the players on the field. If the abuse continues from players still on the field or is also coming from the officials and the players on the bench it would be possible to give out seven or more red cards.
@tomdrewenskus8167 Жыл бұрын
@@frednerk3477 You are correct that if 5 players on the field from one team are shown a red card, then the team must forfeit the match 1-0. But theoretically, the ref could give red cards to all 18 players as well as coaches before leaving the field. Then the league could reprimand all of them for the remainder of the season. Coaches lose their jobs for such fiascos, and they could lose their coaching license as well. Note that the coaches did little to nothing to control the red team players.
