What magnificent music. The lyricism imposed by the cello is divine and takes us to fabulous emotional musical moments. It is a masterpiece of indescribable sublime beauty. The cellist is one of the best I heard so far, congratulations for her sensitivity, which is incredible, her technique is fabulous, taking from the instrument amazing sound. Bravissimo. The orchestra and its direction are excellent. At Fantasiestücke the connection between the two instruments is sublime and the music produced with an indescribable delicacy and beauty. Thanks for this fantastic recording.

Das Konzert ist eine wunderschöne und tiefempfundene Interpretation dieses romantischen und melodischen Meisterwerks mit gut phrasiertem Ton des unvergleichlichen Solocellos sowie gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders melodisch und echt elegisch. Der geniale Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut betrachteten Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Die drei Fantasiestücke sind auch eine wunderschöne und tiefempfundene Interpretation dieser romantischen und lyrischen Meisterstücke im veränderlichen Tempo mit ebenso gut phrasiertem Ton des technisch perfekten Violoncellos sowie klarem und perfekt entsprechendem Klang des unvergleichlichen Klaviers. Alles ist wunderbar!

For those who don't know (I didn't, and had to look it up): Ginette Neveu was a violinist who, like Jacqueline Du Pre, performed amazingly from a young age but was killed in a 1949 plane crash at the age of 30. Little wonder that those who remembered Neveu were reminded of her career by Jacqueline's life.

Στην δεύτερη όψη (2ΥΕΑ.3665) είναι το Κοντσέρτο για Βιολοντσέλλο Νο. 1 του Saint-Saens. Δεδομένου οτι ως έτος εκτύπωσης του δίσκου αναφέρεται το 1969 (P-1969), είναι λογικό να υποθέσουμε οτι η ηχογράφηση έγινε περίπου έναν χρόνο νωρίτερα. Παρεμπιπτόντως, η Ορχήστρα, την οποία, (υποδειγματικά, θα έλεγα), διευθύνει ο νεαρός, τότε, Daniel Barenboim, είναι η New Philharmonia Orchestra.

J'ai alors rencontré un merveilleux vide de milliers de feuilles de vigne séchées. Tout comme le soleil conserve sa propre lumière le moment venu, j'ai moi aussi commencé à protéger mon esprit fatigué à l'automne, de sorte que moi et la mort sont devenus nos rêves de nous dominer l'un l'autre. Mais je ne pouvais pas quitter le vignoble à la fin. Rien n'a bougé, mais j'ai tout changé. Alors un jour, en regardant les yeux effrayants d'un homme qui est entré avec une corde sur le dos sans laisser de trace, chaque fois qu'il m'a appelé son maître, ah, j'ai tourné la tête de désespoir et j'ai fermé mes yeux noirs. Les vignes qui sont revenues au pays de toutes les feuilles avant la fin de l'été, l'automne tragique de cette année-là, j'écris maintenant ces joies vides, mon ami. ​ ,

The pianist is renowned and the playing lovely, but the misbalance is really a mistake that should have been corrected along the way. I couldn't even hear Jacqueline when they started. Perhaps the microphones were placed incorrectly, but why didn't anyone fix it?
