Best and most thorough video series I've seen. No irritating music or commentary. My Escape thanks you.

Thanks, Andrew! I wanted to make videos that work like a repair manual...detailed step-by-step. With no audio, so you don't have to listen to instructions through ambient garage noise...and you can listen to your own music without missing the next step. Thank you for watching!

actually, you can take the hose off the holding tank and put a funnel in it and fill it up faster and better imo.

A very well done video! Just pure step by step easy to follow visual instructions. 🐒🐱😊

Thanks, crazy cat! I wanted to make practical vids that could get someone through a repair...kind of like a repair manual, only more detailed. You can follow along at your own pace, and do not need to listen over ambient garage noise to know what's being said...you can listen to your own music, or carry a conversation with a friend, and still follow along. If entertainment value is important, these vids will bore you. If you want to repair your vehicle, they will help. Thanks for watching, crazy cat!

Hi, I've replaced the water pump and housing and when I pour coolant in overflow tank it just sits there and won't drain into radiator or engine. Wondering what's going on? Thanx

Nice video but how do you drain the system?

The 2010 and later 2.5L have a bleed valve by the EGR

Good day. Is the '09-'12 3.0 the same process? Drain via the radiator petcock, correct? Thanks

Great video... I personally like no sound allows for complete concentration

I'm guessing this from a completely empty radiator? I only need to change the cracked coolent reservoir... do i need to top off a high as you did...😊

Q> i have a 2011 ford escape, is it normal for the coolant to exceed the top level mark when engine is on? and goes to mid level when cold.

I want to drain my rad and refill a new coolant, how many liters should i buy to fill it in?

What specific brand of coolant do you recommend for a 2012 ford escape?
@GreaseMonkeyFever Жыл бұрын
Motorcraft Gold (yellow) is what's recommended. Thanks for watching!
@ZZ903 ай бұрын
Pretty surefor a 2012 ford escape you need to use the NEW motorcraft yellow. 2012 i believe was originally orange coolant. They switch from gold in 2011. So early 2011 escapes are gold, late 2011 and 2012 are orange. But the orange is discontiued and it is now the motorcraft yellow.

My air ain’t coming out hot. Been waiting 10 mins 😢
@GreaseMonkeyFever Жыл бұрын
You either still have an air pocket in the system, or the heater core is stopped up. Find the 2 hoses that go to and from the heater core (through the firewall against the passenger compartment). Both hoses should be hot. If one is hot and the other is not, hot coolant is not flowing through. If an air pocket is still in the system, try disconnecting the hose that goes from the expansion tank to the top of the radiator (disconnect from the expansion tank). Hold the open end up, insert a funnel, and pour coolant down the hose into the radiator. Fill until the coolant is no longer going down. Reconnect the hose, run the vehicle, and squeeze the hose. This is called "back filling". I've had to do this to finally get things going with the hot air. Hope that helps...and thanks for watching!

@@GreaseMonkeyFeverAfter replacing the thermostat, overflow reservoir, and the water pump that's exactly what I did. It took awhile to get all the air out and your video is great! I made sure to bring the ECT up to 225 so that not only the thermostat opens but the fans turn on as well. I wanted to make sure the entire system was functioning the way it's supposed to. Much more tedious then vehicles that aren't a closed system.
