11:52 normally what we do is a tight bead of silicone around the edges then skrim up tight and skim away. It had always cracked on me doing like that

Use foam around the edges or on gaps between any kind of boards, no movement so no cracks

Did you leave 2-5mm perimeter gap around wall/ceiling and fill it with acoustic sealant (eg AC95) before scrim, to prevent noise flanking and keep it airtight?

I went around the edges of boards with an adhesive they supplied so hope tgat was good enough and again tried to push plaster into any little gaps as much as possible

Hi Mac, Which metal blade is that your using the 0.3mm or 0.4mm? Do you not use the 1.5mm plastic blade or did Refina just send you metal ones to try out? Thanks.

Not sure on depth mate I think I do have a few plastic blades but prefer these ones all rounders for multiple materials

This looks like the boards from company called iKoustic? I’m soundproofing party walls now, but using mute clips, channels, Rockwool 60kg/m3 slabs slotted behind, 15mm acoustic board, tecsound heavy duty adhesive vinyl 100kg, plasterboard. 70mm depth altogether. Even the 15mm acoustic boards require many Stanley knife runs to cut. Great video showing what you’re doing, a part from not hearing you during the sawzall ;)

Thanks for watching :) I am not sure on the bords at all but could find but if any one needed I was told they were very expensive yea that saw is a little loud hAHA :)
@Benzknees
@Benzknees Жыл бұрын
He mentioned Soundboard, which I think is supplied by the Soundproofing Store. Not as good as the mute clip alternative, but it's only 30mm thick, versus about 70mm for mute clips & plasterboard. The downside is that each panel weighs an incredible 41kg (for a 1.2 x 1.2m piece)! It's supposed to have a 3mm gap around the edges filled with acoustic sealant, which might have been missed here.

@@Benzknees didn't miss that gear put it around each board and in middle says on it adhesive tho but seemed OK gear but put my trust more in the screws yea these boards are heavy for sure

uses soundboard, has inch gaps everywhere making the soundboard pointless. Cuts with a recip. Where are your spurs at cowboy
@macplastering
@macplastering Жыл бұрын
So you edited the original comment? But any way if you think there was inch gaps it's not really worth replying as you can't read a tape or whatever you are judging that inch of is a lot smaller than you realise rip saw was for speed oh and some of the board where fitted already but apparently they have way less noise now from the other side but thanks for your concern 😟 😨 😉

You can cut this with a knife no chance need a saw now i know you have never used this stuff its rubber backed no inch gaps cant see any sorry again look at a tape to see an inch and again they are more than happy with the job all round so you are very mistaken here and just sound like a hater
