I think a person proficient in permadeath could probably do this in about a half hour. It really doesn't take that long to do the crafting, just making sure that you're using and empty full size hauler to begin with. Totally Swish 😀👍👏👏👏👏👏

You can seriously improve the Base #4 and #5 using the wire glitch to put more than 16 plants per biodome. I made a base on Survival on the Weekend Mission #13 system, where you get materials for 50 Circuit Boards in just 4 biodomes, each one is in top of a cuboid room, so you can just grab all plants from bellow. Biodome #1 (65 Frostworts), biodome #2(129 Solar Vines), biodome #3 (33 Echinocactus) and biodome 4 (257 Star Brambles, this is the craziest one). Building that took several hours and frustrations (the wire glitch is very tricky), but result is pretty good and time saving, yes I'm a lazy one.

That may be more 'Oxygen' than you need, but you have the Carbon planter recipe, and a lot of us don't. For those of us who don't have such, start by putting just Oxygen into the refiner with a limit of 160 carbon as an output, then move that over to an input and generate the Condensed Carbon that way.

Just equip your ship with a positron ejector and bombard a planet with a high/rich flora for about 5 minutes. After that you have several (ten) thousands of ferrite dust, pure ferrite, carbon, oxygen, di-hydrogen and so on.

I had about 150 hrs in NMS, finished the main storyline, got me a decent freighter and ships, built a couple of bases, then my pc died and I lost all my saves. Have you seen that you can wire glitch extra plants into a biodome so you can have more than 16 and the "harvest all" button still works?

Based on looking at his first farm, it looks like he's stacked biodomes, and I think the effect is that when he hits the 'harvest all' in the bottom dome, it harvests everything from the domes sitting on top of it. I'm pretty sure that's glitch building as well, as I seem to recall that I couldn't stack them when I was building, but I don't know. I don't think we got enough of a look at the second farm to know if he was stacking domes there as well, but I don't think he would have to.

Well the title is quite missleading it seems. I see many disadvantages in this method... It takes days / weeks to set up all the different bases to farm all the needed resources. It takes a lot of manual farming/collecting/crafting. It takes very long to find acceptable spots. And it takes time until the fruits are farmable again (some have 16hrs growth time). You also use macros for trying to automatise some actions. And on top you can't put that much refiners so close together anymore. Those factors aren't calculated in those "17 minutes". The preperation is just insane and (in my opinion) not worth the outcome (until you can use the crafted products for more then just selling). I'd rather stick to an activated indium farm. Once it's set up you just have to sell the completely passive farmed a-indium and you have more time for other things. And all you need is a S or A class spot of the mineral and a C class spot for energy and a ton of material (exp. ferrite dust). Then you can upgrade it to crazy numbers and make several bil a day. The advantages of farming only 1 kind of resource and selling it without crafting makes it much more practicable and efficient.

I did a small thing on my freighter yesterday that got me 14million on chlorine which was nice (survival) - Then I leap to a system that wants to give me an A class 34 slot freighter - FML - is it better to delete everything built to regain them resources to rebuild on new freighter - not switched yet but have the location for later. I just got this game in the steam sale so still learning - :)

If you have turned the game off or gone away from the A class 34 slot, it won't definitely be there when going back, the class is random on load, there's a lot of info about but a bit too much for a KZbin comment. I wouldn't worry about having to rebuild small parts of things or you'll never upgrade

I’ve been running a stasis device and fusion igniter operation for a while now. I’ve found that you need to plant extra plants (solanium and echinocactus are good) to convert into carbon, to then convert into condensed carbon. An oxygen mine is very useful too - oxygen can be added to lots of processing in a medium or large refiner to increase the yield greatly. (Disclaimer: I haven’t watched this video yet.)

Right?! A huge amount of videos by Xaine and other NMS youtubers (JasonPlays, Khraze, etc) about the best techniques to make units and nanites are only really viable on Normal mode, where you have access to massive stacks of 9999, instead of the 250 you have in Survival/Permadeath. So far on Survival, I'm yet to find a more efficient method for making units than an activated indium farm, and nothing better for nanites than buying and scrapping A-S class ships and selling the mods.

Aye it's 3 within a local area. You can get more in but it involves the use of glitch building, this didn't used to be the case, so some older builds have a lot very close. It looks like having refiners very close and or too many of them was contributing to the issue where items where disappearing from the refiner slots

Yeah, tbh, overall I'd prefer the save editor and ability to "fix" things not exist, it lessons someone actually achieving the things, it's why I hate duping. I've used a save editor twice, once to add the 16th glyph after it hugged and 37 extra graves still didn't give it and the fix they put in, didn't fix mine. Can't remember what the other one was, maybe it was just the one. I purposefully slow my gameplay amounts so I don't burn out and complete everything, I've never maxed units on any save and only harvested my farms for testing. I love building and refining things so, I largely stick to that, keeps things fresh. Have you tried perma? It really does make it different with the threat of an easy death

I'll answer that for you. Spend navigation data at the cartographer at the space stations. Get secret planetary charts. Use them to find manufacturing facilities. Save your game using the save beacon outside them and you'll get back the navigation data you spent. Blow the door and successful complete the little riddle on the console. If you do it correctly itll give you 3 options. Choose "learn new recipe" and there you go.

I ve just finished the building of a stasis device farm a week ago (well, a set of farms, actually, as you need plants, gas and minerals all together) making 80 SDs per 16 hrs. My main base was in a system with 6 planets. I have all biomes but the sub-zero. Still instead of planting some plants directly on the ground, I put all in biodomes. It s much faster to collect comparing to collecting them directly from the ground. per each stasis device, you need: ------------- PLANTS (circuit board + living glass) 400 gamma root 50 faecum 300 frost crystal 200 star bulb 200 solanium 100 cactus flesh GAS (superconductor + cryo pump) 500 nitrogen 500 radon 500 sulphurine 300 condensed carbon also, some oxygen for carbon synthesis and enrichment of some other materials. MINERALS (iridesite) 150 ionised cobalt 50 paraffinium 50 phosphorus 50 dioxite ------------- I used rafineries for dioxite, condensed carbon and ionized cobalt. for these three, the main resources were Cobalt, Sodium and Oxygen. ------------- I ve built... ... 4 small gas farms for nitrogen, radon, sulphurine and oxygen on 4 different biomes. Each to produce/stock 40k gas per 14-15 hrs. These were to produce 80 Superconductors and Cryo pumps. Oxygen is always for synthesis/enrichment. ... 2 small mineral farms for paraffinium and phosphorus. Each produce/stock 4-5k minerals per 14-15 hrs. For 80 Iridesides. ... a hydroponic farm with +100 biodomes to produce all 6 plants at enough quantity to make 80 circuit boards and living glass. and a rafinery/storage center to combine all. Now, at the end of every 16 hrs, by only visiting one time and then spending maybe only 30 mins (I m slow) I can make 80 stasis devices with total value of 1,25 billion. I do find Stasis Device farm much more effective and fast than any other options including fluorine or active indium farms. Building it can require a bit time but the outcome is really perfect. I would recommend this setting to everyone. Reaching the maximum bank cap requires only 3-4x half an hour game play after building the farm. Eventhough right now, all farms seem a bit "roughly built" (cables and pipes are not underground, extractors and silos are not standing perfectly in order...) such aesthetical needs can be handled soon.
