I use my dishwasher all the time. It's great but pre-washing dishes before they go in the dishwasher is dumb. It's not 1980. Unless you plan on letting your dishes sit in there for a month, modern dishwashers are capable of handling visible grease and food residue.

Loved this episode. Also, as the daughter of Mexican immigrants, I am a thirty one year old woman who has never used a dishwasher. I've always used one as storage. My mom used to say the same thing that you did in the video, "why do I have to pre-wash a dish, it doesn't make sense". I would like to learn how to use one if I ever get one again. Lol

I moved to the US as a small child nearly 40 years ago and I still wash my dishes by hand. There's something cathartic about the warm sudsy water. My dishwasher gets used only after dinner parties ... so like once a year ;)
@user-vu4fm3cd2n6 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on the dishwasher. The dishwasher at my family's home doesn't need any pre-washing, it cleans the dishes pretty well even if the dishes sat in there for 2 days and some food stains might have dried.

Thanks, Julie.... You are the first person that agrees with me on why anyone should use a dishwasher when you have to pre-wash them anyways!!!!
@latmcb98636 жыл бұрын
Assuming you have a decent dishwasher, you do not need to pre-wash dishes. Just scrape off the food and put the dish in the dishwasher. Dish detergent is made to cling to the gunk on the dishes and wash it away. Once I got a decent dishwasher it sped up my kitchen clean-up and actually reduced my water bill.
@donrufiethefirst6 жыл бұрын
Dishwashers are the best! There's a huge difference between scraping or even rinsing the dishes quickly before loading. It's not at all like full on scrubbing them.

Isn't 300k very little for NY prices? I live in a big city in italy and rents are nowhere near NY prices but for 300k you get a small apartment in a decent area, nothing more than that. I thought houses were crazy expensive to buy considering the rent prices

To each their own, a place where houses are that inexpensive can't be that amazingly wonderful tbh, and it also depends on what kind of person you are, I would NEVER leave in a small town or even worse the countryside.
@arushikhosla67646 жыл бұрын
there's a reason NY is as expensive as it is - more people want to live there than say, middle of nowhere Utah. I'd rather pay more money to live in a smaller space in NY than to live in a 3 bed elsewhere. To each their own.
@letrice28926 жыл бұрын
Deanna Wade they bought the apt and trust me when ever they are ready to sell they will get a nice return from it esp if they make any upgrades ppl are paying alot here in NYC for the location and downtown bk is becoming very much of the in place to be so ppl are taking advantage of the housing market there now before it becomes difficult to get an apt
