I woke up in a fairly bad mood, then i came here to get my daily morning dose of Peter and after seeing Peter smiling from ear to ear cheerfully saying hello in the intro i must say, my mood is now no longer bad, now to go take care of my trees with my newly found smile :) Thanks Peter :)

That comment killed me. This man will be a superstar in a few years if he keeps it up, I wish he would do a Jade Afra, Ovulata, and Afra vargiegata (SO PRETTY) but he's clearly not a succulent guy. I started years ago and even bought some decent shears from Tian and soil and I think some wire but parent's took my Fukien Tea Tree when I had to cut them off. Was more worried about buying stuff than learning the trees and everyone said read a book. I still haven't but I will buy some of Peter's books and other recommended books when I have the money to buy them. He has COMPLETELY changed my understanding and view of bonsai and trees in general. I almost feel like I don't need the books after watching his videos. Now have a near full set just need a quality root rake, something I thought was a joke before watching Peter! Wish I could trade my leaf cutters and wire cutters for a nice stainless steel one but maybe I'll order cheap ones orrecommendations

Peter, you have done a marvelous job of making this forest group cohesive. Having one size sparse and the other vigorous looked incongruous as if the trees didn’t belong in the same composition. You have now united the whole group so they belong together. It looks wonderful!

I can't understand why someone buy such important piece and then neglect it. This is a crime :( Peter is amazing for saving some of the trees.
@mamagrazi
@mamagrazi 3 жыл бұрын
That's what Peter does. Buys speciment tree neglects it. And then "revives" lol. Such a shame those trees in real bonsai artists hands would thrive, but not at Peters.
@emmitstewart1921
@emmitstewart1921 3 жыл бұрын
@@mamagrazi It isn't Peter neglecting the tree. Owners buy these trees and don't realize how much work it takes to keep a tree looking good, or they have things happening in their lives that keep them from spending the time they need to keep up their tree. That is when they bring the tree back to Peter to repair the damage.
@theflyingcrud
@theflyingcrud 3 жыл бұрын
@@mamagrazi these trees are not his, he says at the beginning that a collector bought it and he was asked to get it back in shape. Perhaps the owner doesn't feel they have the skill to handle something like this and they would likely be correct.

Bonsai masterclass was bought for me as a gift back in 1990 and was my introduction to the art and has, together with Mr Naka's bonsai techniques have been my go-to reference ever since. So nice to see one of those original trees been worked after all the years. Interestingly, the trees now truly show their age. Thank you Peter.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can not have bonsai where I live (upstairs apartment with no balcony). But I don’t need one. I admire your bonsai. Also you have awoken the joy of seeing the trees around me (and other plants). I live in Northern California we have Redwood trees that are thousands of years old. In my neighborhood there are youngster redwoods (50 years plus) that are as high as a five story building. As well as all the blooming trees that are a joy all year long. Now I will look up from the flowers and see the stunning trees as well (with birds flying through the branches). A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

Good morning Peter. I just saw the best bonsai video. Thank you for teaching us to lose fear. If you make a mistake, learn. It has been spectacular to show us the refinement of a forest of Master Naka (no less) where he has had to prune, make jins, low branches, etc. to regain its splendor. I certainly don't think he can charge this job, and on top of that, he gives it to us as a gift. And yes, I feel like when you speak in the video you are addressing me. You are endearing.
