Refinishing a Reproduction Tanker Desk for someone very special

This transformation just deeply touched my heart! I could see how much you and your wife must truly love each other with every careful attention to detail you did, and with her complete trust in you. I was already loving this video from the Get-Go (and of course, Daisy!) but I was not prepared for the final result! Even tho it’s mainly MDF- this desk is fit for royalty! As I’m certain Emma well deserves! Absolutely gorgeous! 👏👍🌟🤘💖

I have to say, I was more than a bit skeptical until I saw how that blue made the wood on the drawers absolutely GLOW -- they look positively lit from within! And the copper touches against the blue ... one of my very favorite combinations. Absolutely lovely.

I was skeptical when you were painting the desk. I'm a firm believer in natural wood finishes but, I think you may have changed my mind. In the 80’s the height of fashion my mum had pieces like this. It looks fabulous in its new guise. Furniture is still made in these styles but is mostly sprayed in a uniform colour.

That's an awesome restoration. I did a small end table for my ex and it was a similar color. I got the smoothest finish by letting the paint harden for 24 hours, dry sanding with 600 grit, and then a spray on matte clear coat. It's totally matte, and flat as glass. I really love the finishes youve chosen. The right stain and gloss on the wood really shows off that beautiful grain, and the copper highlights in the trim look incredible against the blue. Dyeing the leather looked like a challenge, but it was definitely the right choice. I'd love to own a desk that nice.
