We can reflect the graph of y=f(x) over the x-axis by graphing y=-f(x) and over the y-axis by graphing y=f(-x). See this in action and understand why it happens.

1:50 The tosca one is the y-axis reflection of the x-axis reflection of f(x). That is crazy.

Good job reflecting the functions, but one thing: wouldn't the sqrt(-x) be i ?

thats only for x>0, because x cant be neg, -x gets limited to the left hand side of the graph, causing it to be reflected in the y axis

sqr(-1) = i

nope245 x can be negative but its not going to be a real number but will be refered to as an imaginary one. The Square root of -7 lets say is sqr(7 times -1) and we know that the square root of -1 = i so you could take the square root of 7 which is 2.64575131106 and add an i so.....2.64575131106i which is the same as sqr(-7) or you could write sqr(7i) which just correlates to sqr (-7)
