Hello and welcome to a new video ! ♟️
Some more Blitz for today as I'm trying to use a weapon that I was introduced to by my coach more than a decade ago. Whilst most 1.e4 players meet the Philidor with the standard approach (taking the center with two pawns followed by developing the knights), the move 3.Bd3 rings a bit of an unpleasant bell to me. The very first time I encountered this move was in an over-the-board tournament, back in 2010., My opponent was rated more than 700 points higher than I was at the time.
Considering the gap between us, it is quite likely that I would have lost regardless. However, I was pleasantly surprised afterwards, when it came to my attention that a very nice sequence gives Black satisfactory play.
Said sequence includes a pretty and instructive central pawn push...
Let's see what happens !♟️
