2024 was pretty good for me. I started mandarin December last year with the goal of getting to A2ish this year. I think I'm now more like B1and I've rekindled my love of reading and have finished 16 native novels. Even though they were mainly children's novel that's still been pretty motivating! This year I have a goal of reading 4 million characters. I need to work out a good routine for my listening comprehension, though.

What's the purpose of studying languages from three different families at once? Do you work as a translator or in some kind of government role that's aided by it? I see large benefits of learning a second or in some areas a third language but your combo seems very unlikely with Czech.

I work for Refold and I learn languages because they're cool, and I like the process. I chose Czech specifically because it's not related to English or Spanish. I have vocational utility for my languages (other than Spanish being useful, but not actually required).
