I'm 40 years old and I'm 4 months into my first yeard. Last December I was 6 months in but a life changing diagnosis of lung cancer set me back... My beard fell out from the chemotherapy but now that it's growing back I'm letting it go full force. Unfortunately the cancer has come back too so it's a race to make the yeard. Thanks for the helpful tips; enjoying the videos.

I really enjoy your videos. Your passion for your beard is inspiring. I have had a small but full beard off and on for years. I find myself trimming it too low on the cheeks and not liking the look then shaving to start over. I have just now decided to grow my beard non-stop until Feb. 2018 and experience the "yeard" as you have. My beard, at it's longest (maybe 2 to 2 1/2 inches), developed a loose wave that my wife really disliked. I caved and haven't let it grow that long again since. I now resolve to allow my beard to grow long and full and show me what it's got. Thank you for your content! I will be watching regularly!

Fortunately a beard does not define a man. Whiskers are merely a body part. And that doesn't mean a hairless face on a man negates his manhood. An islander or Asian dude is no less of a man because they cant grow a full thick beard. My channel is a message to men to give 100% in all they do, whether it be a beard or straight razor shaving like a boss

I think what I thought other people “might have been” thinking of me with the long beard lead in part to me cutting it . I loved it , did get a little tired of it but once it went away I wanted it back . So now we wait . Thanks George for the inspiration

I'm a beard baby. I just started growing a beard about 11 months ago and have trimmed it many times. I have it at about an inch in length right now. It's been a comfort zone thing for me. I grow it out, get uncomfortable then trim it back. But I am getting to the point now that I don't think about it quite as much and am to the point where I want to grow it out to about 3 inches or so. Like the channel. Subscribed.

Hey Mr. George... Enjoy your videos.. Couple of years ago started my beard journey. Having spent years in the Corps, shaving was almost religious. I made the typical mistakes, trim my own, not good. So I put away the clippers. Went to a traditional barber, now much better. My beard is white. I am delving into more of the beard care. I have used balms for about 6 months. Big difference. You had mentioned tea? My growth is slow but full. I doubt if I will ever resemble Gandalf, but growing it just the same. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Just past the Yeard mark, BUT I fell into the common mistake of over thinking or maybe second guessing the growth and trimmed here an there. First the side, due to growing in thin, with white hair, then later trimming the mustache. Now I am just letting it grow and doing what you said, caring for the skin etc. Don't touch it, care for it and let it grow is the best advice anyone can give.

Type of helmet, securing length of beard etc.. I currently ride a 2002 Honda CBR600 F4i. I began my yeard on Nov 2, 2019 (I just turned 66 in Oct). Thanks for your encouragement throughout your videos.

Your beard looks awesome but technically its not a yeard. the moment you even touched it with clippers it was over my friend. I am currently 5 months into my second yeard. It falls into place at around 5 months and looks very natural provided its well looked after although it does look rough for a few weeks. Being able to endure it for an entire year with no trimming is the true test and its a pretty awesome achievement as well as looking incredible. subbed. love your videos.

Coming up on my yeard and I only wish that I had done it sooner. My only regret is trimming as much as I have over the yeard, I probably took off nearly 3 inches over time to try and clean up the see-through hairs but I love everything about your approach to your beard. If possible, I would love to send you a photo of my beard now and the amount of product I am using for oil, I'm very positive I am using a lot more than needed. Any help you could give me in that respect would be greatly appreciated. #beardon and from another fellow introvert with extroverted tendencies, enjoy the day, it only gets better from here!

Hi Gray I've just found you about a week ago and love your videos, great advice and a relaxing atmosphere. At 42yrs I have committed to growing another beard, maximum time in the past has been around 4 months as I spent 20yrs in the Australian Army, bummer about having to shave every day but that's part of the job. I'm at nearly 2 months now and my facial hair grows really fast which I like, lots of greys in it but I love them. Keep up the good work with the videos as it's good to get advice from other males on certain topics where otherwise we may be a bit quiet. Thanks Gray :)

First off, Thank you George for putting yourself out there to help others on their journey! I just started growing my beard and I at least committed to 4 months. I have 2 specific questions and I hope you will consider doing a video on them... I am a Sales Engineer and I meet customers daily so looking fresh is important. How do I keep looking good during this period and go about the (negative) comments on the facial growth? Secondly, what should I look for when finding a good barber in my area? Thanks again and looking forward to more vids, peace and love.
@ListenMySon8 жыл бұрын
Blowdry the beard downward in the beginning phases. Keeps it neat and the balm and waxes have to work less. I always tell people to look for barbers that sell Layrite. Most likely they will also do beards. Go to Layrite.com and search in your area
@nickcsuki81238 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply! I'm from the Netherlands so finding a Layrite selling barber is near impossible... Yet I found two barbers for men, I guess I will just have to go and find out. Thanks for the reply, will try blowdrying it once it gets some more length...

George, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. First for all your videos, which are at the very least informative. Also for your comment about messages. I did not know one could do that! And for your concise advice and encouragement. I started growing a beard a yeard ago, and thinking I wanted a crisp, 20 mm result, I put far too much time and money into trims and implements. I'm back on track from collarbone to second button grooming with only balm and pin-brush (if that is the correct term). The front of my beard has mostly short c- and s-curls. My barber says they will straighten by their weight as they grow longer; my landlord says I can't use a hair dryer. Any suggestions for straightening?

Hello George. I started a yeard in October 2017. I am now in the 16th month. Not a hair has been trimmed during this time. Like you, I have reached the third button, and it is still growing. At this time I have no idea at which point I will finally have it trimmed. I have a problem, however. Like your beard , mine is white. It does have a hint of yellow. I have used those shampoos for white hair, the ones with blueing, with no success with the beard hair. They have worked with my head hair. I have even used a clarifying shampoo at the suggestion of a beautician. Again no success. I would appreciate any suggestions. BTW, if I wear a white shirt the yellow is most noticable, with a colored shirt it is not a problem. Thanks for your suggestions in this matter.

Hi George, I have a yeard question. Did there come a point when your beard hair naturally all started growing in the same direction (i,e, down)? I've had facial hair for 12 years but always kept it trimmed short. Been growing it out around 3 or 4 months now and I have some hairs growing in all directions and no amount of beard oil and boar bristle brushing tames them. I have to resist the temptation to reach for the scissors and snip them off! Just wonder it I might hit a magic point where it all comes together. Thanks.

Big respect from fellow PA beardsman! Yours vids are well done & you connect well w/your audience. Quick ??; I'm 3.5 months into yeard; however the first 2 months I trimmed & shaved neck (not too high; 2in above adams apple) Will this negatively affect fullness or appearance later on? And is there anything to be done about aside from letting it grow & flow? Thanks George fell like I've known you a lifetime; keep up great work.

It looks like it's VERY well done! Curious as to who the artist is - as I too reside in PA. Now; beard related. My girlfriend loves my beard, dislikes the mustache when kissing (no I'm not getting rid of her haha). Any solutions to this? I use a bit of wax but it doesn't quite get the job done, my mustache is a bit pastry bottom lip when straight. Thank you and keep it up! Congrats on the YEARD!!!

Hi ! Just done with the yeard and decided to go onwards to the big beard. What would you suggest to do or not do to grow out long? My plan is to let the beard and the stache go untouched for another year. Of course I will refer to your valuable tutorials still I have some uncertainties as I am a slow grower, still have a good coverage and insist on having a neat appearance as the beard will get denser and longer. I've had a big beard now for a couple of years. Wish I would have found your channel back when my journey started. It's pretty straight like yours. The issue I haven't figured out yet, is that the sides are wavy. How do I correct or train it? I do make my own beard oils. Right now I'm using jojoba oil, liquid lanolin and peppermint. That seems to work for me. Most beard oils I have bought end up drying and burning my skin, which is odd... Should I add anything to my beard oil? The soap I use is Grandpas pine tar soap.

I treat my beard like gold as far as care goes, using all your video advice. I'm still waiting for my chin whiskers to let gravity do it's thing, OMG how long will it take, will it EVER happen?! When I get out of the shower after a co-wash, my beard soaking wet, it hangs down and I see how long it's getting. have been growing my beard for maybe 6-7 months and got it trimmed/shapped a Month ago...I want the same look you are going for but maybe 2 buttons. what should I be doing specifically to reach that goal. thinking about going till at least may.

Upper upper side burns, beginning at the middle of your ears. I started from the bottom of my ears and was unhappy with the result

It will flow like water....the biggest obstacle to growing a beautiful beard is ourselves...if we would just let it grow and resist the urge to trim or cut it, nature will do it's thing...!!!
