Excellent interview with a true public servant! I enjoyed that format and your skill in directing the event!

Nice program, Joe. I found VP Quayle's insider knowledge of Margaret Thatcher's thoughts about Germany and NATO to be very interesting. I had not heard that before. Nice to hear about the Senate bible studies, too.

Dan Quayle's version of "being prepared" as VP was to "say a prayer" if something had happened to Bush and Quayle was required to take over the White House.

Hi Joe. I always thought it was "smiling Joe!" No matter - very nice interview. Dan looks happy, and that great sense of humor is still there. Hope you & your kids are doing well.

@@AryaBissYour joke is depressing. You referenced an event that received a huge amount of media coverage during Quayle's tenure as vide president, but you forgot that a joke should include humor and should make people laugh. Your comment is the Dan Quayle of jokes.

Never could figure why H. Dub picked him for a running mate.😊

It was mostly to appeal to younger voters. Reagan was very old and Bush (though only 64 at the time of his election) wanted a fresh new face of conservatism. Also to balance the ticket ideologically. Quayle was a dye-in-the-wool conservative and Bush was quite moderate compared to Reagan.
