politics is how we determine who will be given the authority to make decisions in a society. now, the constitution or the bill of rights, defines the relationship of a government with its people, by someone like me who is a member of the public and not the government, the constitution is crucial in terms of putting limits on the governments and their actions affecting my rights and liberties. so the role of the supreme courts as a so-called political court is to interpret the constitution to determine whether the authority in a case is legitimate or did the government exceeded their authority and therefore are liable for negligence or careless about the rights of the people given to them by the charter of rights and freedoms. chief justices, both present and former, could be no less than saviors of the people straight from god almighty when it comes to protecting the rights and freedoms and properties of the people. I am very keen on giving the credit where it is due
