What most people aren't aware of is that a sloth can cut your throat with its claws before you can blink. You've proven that here lol Your flying not only impresses me but inspires me. No way I'll be this good, but I have to try.

I see you have mastered the nose dive 360. In BMX and generally in extreme sport that is when the rider(or quad in this case) has its front facing side lower than the tail on the exit of the 360 turn, which for riders is just more admirable from the viewers point, but for quads gives the stability of the whole motion aswell as making it look cool. Top work man.

David Lougedo I definitely helps but to be honest we both started out in the same boat. Skitzo and I both sucked 9 months ago. Skitzo actually had a phantom vision+ when i met him.. I kind of got him hooked and we have been feeding off of each other since then make your friends amazing :) push them a person who strives for more surrounds themselves with people that are better than them. I did get lucky with Skitzo he is very passionate about this hobby and we are also healthily competitive.

Awesome video, As a watcher I prefer to see the quads LOS to try to understand better what the quad is doing. I would love to see some freestyle but filmed LOS. I would have loved to see more LOS shoots on the nationals too. So your video is very refreshing after tons of FPV videos, I enjoy them but get a little bit bored, there is to much FPV shots and to little LOS videos in this category. I am still very confused with how flips and roll are done. it seems is a lot about the program, the flight mode right? which flight mode do you use? I will begun my first mini quads build at the end of this year so I am trying to understand better about flight modes and flight skills . thanks
@MrSteeleFPV
@MrSteeleFPV 9 жыл бұрын
LOS is very hard to capture since these things are constantly moving very fast over s large area. But yeah I get it. It's better to understand what is happening if you can see the whole quad. All of this type of flying is done in Acro mode or full manual mode. With no self stabilizing modes. So it flies more like a real helicopter or a plane rather than a stereotypical drone/Multirotor.

Pure fun you guys having there, very entertaining, enjoyed the new low fast 360 yaw.. Just curious, you set min throttle to 1070, what range did you calibrate the kiss esc with, was it 1000-2000 or something else like 1050-1950? What would you prefer the min throttle below or above the motor start point? I think mine starts at 1060 and I set min to 1050 to be below, don't know if it's a good or bad idea getting to re-spin after a complete motor stop, during a flip say. Thanks in advance, thought I pick your brain... a ball rippin' brain!!! :)... rather than re-inventing the wheel.
@MrSteeleFPV
@MrSteeleFPV 9 жыл бұрын
Ritch1e it all depends on the ESC. so there is not right answer. i set my lowest throttle to 1070 so that i have a little more response than 1050 or whenever he kisses spool up. I arm on a switch as well. so when i arm my motors idle at 1070. you do not want to completely stop the motors in a roll BADDD NEWS! the quad will have no control and will crash. ask me how i know.

@BorisBnow
@BorisBnow 9 жыл бұрын
***** So you tried the 5x45? Interresting to hear you like the three blades over those. I didnt try them on 1300 mah yet, but I certainly like them more than 3 blades. 3 blades kind of feel more heavy in acceleration of throttle down below due to more weight of the prop. I have some 1300mah to test with. Definately going to try that combo as well.
@JulianGoesPro
@JulianGoesPro 9 жыл бұрын
I am suprised to see you guys using 1.3Ah packs with such powerful setups, is it worth sacrificing "available" peak amp draw for the weight improvement?
@BorisBnow
@BorisBnow 9 жыл бұрын
Julian GoesPro Well for my bullnose setup I definately need 1800 high C rating. But I do like a bit lighter factor. Now having 2 2300kv setups with 5x45 (non bullnose) does allow me to go a bit lighter on batteries. I am now playing with 1300 and 1500 packs. Still no final verdict yet. But lightweight with good power is always better. It gives this more like a simulator feeling if you know what I mean. The new small powerfull escs nowadays, different types of props and batteries making this all better nowadays than lets say 1 year ago. Also high rev screaming is another fun factor increase :). It does help adrenaline running faster.
@2crashy545
@2crashy545 9 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Great skills. How can I get my quad to behave a little more like yours?? What's the main way you get that throttle response, is it motors, battery or ESCS. I know you are lightning quick with the sticks but your quad just sounds so sweet. I've just ordered a 4S kit for my Storm which includes 2206 motors, (I think), 15A ESCs and a 4S bat. Is that going to help?

Hi Mr Steel, mind sharing your CF DUMP. Absolutely love the characteristics of your craft! I was worried I can only achieve what Boris B has with new FC and LoopTime = 800 but your setup is crazy!

Bulbufet FPV Thanks I saw that and very much apreciate it. A full dump is always nice too.
@BootflagFPV
@BootflagFPV 9 жыл бұрын
Doug Schafer Man I don't think the dump will get you anywhere. It's not the FC settings or the setup that will make you fly like that. It's just how much flight time you get on your hands and how much time you spend to tune your quad to the limit. If you're not used to those hight rates you'll likely just crash your quad into the ground.

Bootflag FPV Nooooooo I don't want to hear that... Can't I just be blissfully ignorant in the belief those setting will make the difference?

Hey, I noticed on some other vid you have headphones connected to the googles. Are you listening to quad audio and if so, don't you get annoying transmission noise? Or was it something else? Like Backstreet Boys maybe? :))) Cheers!
@MrSteeleFPV
@MrSteeleFPV 9 жыл бұрын
Dronksy Backstreet Boys yes. :) I do listen to the motors. I have mics on all of my quads for listening to the rpm of the motors. it helps with throttle control and helps you get a little more immersed in the situation at hand.
@MacFPV
@MacFPV 9 жыл бұрын
Maaaan, I just came back from a session with the mic onboard. I put one on just after asking you. And I got to say it was one of the most intense session so far. Ok, the sound quality isn't perfect (transmission I guess), but boy, you do feel immersed!!! And as you said, it also has the practical side. But for me it was all about cutting out other senses. Guess you get used to it fast so it'll be hard to go back (unless there's backstreet boys on my playlist. then its BB all the way ;)))))

Hi Steele. ...long-time listener, first-time caller... ;) I know you're a Taranis pilot. ...but if you had the means, would you ever consider a JR 28X? I know it's a lot more radio than is needed for quad flying I'm still not sure which RC discipline I'm going to favour. My early experience was with gliders and I'm thinking of getting back into the hobby with quads. ...but don't want to be restricted by my radio if I want to pursue some cross-discipline flying. I guess the real question is: If I plan to get into quad flying, is there any compelling reason to NOT get a 28X (apart from the price!)?

Waiting on ESCs for it. Ordered some RG20s to try. The SN20s suckkkkkkkk and are down 110g of thrust per motor... Compared to the kiss and the RG20. I still run kisses on my blackout for now. I have a fire ever couple days. But. You can't beat how this thing feels

How are you flying so quickly forward when your right stick isnt even past the half way point? Obviously I'm just starting out but on my taranis the half way point is neutral so when I'm there I just fly straight up. Thanks!
