Since the Fall, every human being is born captive to sin and death. In this message, Voddie Baucham considers Jesus as our redeemer and rescuer, focusing particularly on the work of God the Father and God the Son during the earthly ministry of Christ, and touching on the role of the Spirit after Pentecost.

I was a Muslim and to be honest a have never ever seen a sermon so convincing about the true nature of God redemptive power.I came to know God more in following Voddie than my entire life as a Muslim from East Africa.I love watching Voddie sermons and preachings all I can say they touch my heart to the core.

This sermon should be shouted from the rooftops. Never have I heard a sermon with more biblical gems packed into 50 minutes of teaching, directly and powerfully linking our chosen earthly forebears to the progressive fulfilment of the plan and promises of God for our redemption. Never before have I been so assured and impacted, nor had it so beautifully explained that every “t” has been crossed, every “i” dotted in God’s amazing plan throughout the centuries to bring into fruition His plan to rescue us, not only from the enemy, but from ourselves. I’ve been renewed with courage to rejoice in all circumstances; to trust and obey. 🙏

Truly eye opening. Thank you pastor. Thank you Jesus! I am so thankful for the ability to follow this sermon and be able to pause it now and then and to just go over what was just said and to meditate upon it. In this way you get the whole meaning of what pastor Voddie is getting at. I have to make clear that I do not subscribe to the pre-tribulation rapture. I have not heard any other sermons by pastor but by just seeing the Dallas theological seminary I am assuming that it is his belief. Regardless this is a great sermon.

There comes a time when you listen to a particular speaker who, as he speaks, takes you into the depths of understanding such as you've never even seen, felt, or comprehended before in your life. And as he brings you to this deeper, clearer understanding, your eyes are opened to a revelation that you realize had eluded you, until this very moment! Voddie Baucham is such a passionate preacher of the Word- I was crying along with him as my comprehension of what he read EXPANDED! It was then that I was, and now am able to understand WHY I'm reading, and studying the Bible, and will continue to do so, as long as God gives me the strength. I want to get to that place of understanding where men of God like Voddie Baucham, and others are. But, until that time comes, I'll just keep reading, and listening to great preaching/teaching like "The Rescuer." Thank you Voddie for your love, and passion for God's Word- it's contagious!!

Your statement of "I" makes yourself the focus and not Christ. As John the Baptist says, I must decrease He, Jesus must increase. So as iron sharpens iron ye may see and say, because or since God had mercy on me & choosing me in Christ after 3 yrs I... Christian: Christ 1st. I am nothing. You did not choose him he chose you. How are you doing? I’m watching this sermon again and thought of you at your desk crying. I pray if you are moved by the Holy Spirit at work again (maybe you cry or not….does not matter….it’s ok to do so even at work) that you share the ***good news of Jesus Christ*** with your coworkers! We need to love everyone enough to share with them. You, John, may be at work to do just that….you never know who may need to hear from you! I pray we are ALL encouraged to share The Gospel with those around us…..wether at work, school, family functions, sporting events, sitting in a waiting room at doctors office! Anywhere….Everywhere!

Listen to Jeff Durbin one video (he has allot) but one video about the "end of the age". I would bet (we are not suppose to bet) but i wouldn't consider myself a Christian if you would not be commended to read the OT in more depth😍

Amazing how You can tell when a preacher is speaking from the Holy Spirt. It teaches you something you don’t even see in the text, after have read it a million times! I was convicted, joyful, and saw the wonder of God in history. That is preaching knowledge, not hidden but revealed knowledge. I had tears in my eyes because I saw the love God has for us in the plain texted of the Bible. Not some motivational preacher selling a book and never drawing you into the word but drawing you to their book! This preacher though makes me want to go back and reread the whole historical narrative again. That’s drawing us to the cross.

You know I heard him years ago in the Iron sharpens Iron event for men. I never remembered his name but was in tears during this very sermon. It wasn’t until almost 8 years later that I became a fan of his sermons and realized that I had seen him live only just recently

it has only been in the last two weeks that I came across this man of God on KZbin. What a powerful messenger. My deepest prayer is that he will not succumb to the temptation of greed and pride that so many ministers have fallen into and that he will continue to be the strong voice to both believers and unbelievers until the return of Christ.

You should follow him I him on his journey to Africa and see how God has led him. He is only recently recovering from some major heart issues. He has a lot of messages on KZbin that have been posted about how he was led to preach in an all-white Church as well as being led to Africa. Someone has posted all of his preaching on the Book of Revelation, 20 amazing messages.

The entire Bible points to Jesus. One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was read the Bible from beginning to end, and use e-sword, or a concordance so that I can get the richness of the Hebrew and Greek words. Praise Yashua for preachers like this man. The prosperity gospel, and me me me, it's all about what we can get in this world is leading people away to hell. I pray that I continue to be reminded that my hope is not for anything I can get in this world, but my hope is for heaven, that I will be able to praise my savior for ever. Be blessed.

@velveteyes79 Thank God that God has made provision for other people around this world to have the Bible translated into their own language, that they could read, after Jesus saved them --- which is Not English. It's such a grand thing that God made provision for Every tribe, nation, and tongue.

I was saved during his preaching at our church. He preached on the book of Ruth. I wasn’t happy about it because I already went through Ruth 3 times! But never did I actually hear the book of Ruth until then. I didn’t even like Voddie who my husband made me listen to while I threw a fit (my evil self didn’t want to know Jesus). When he came to the church my husband took the baby out and made me sit and listen! That moment changed my life and I am transforming now because God let me hear Voddies message from God. ♥️

First time I heard this I was stunned. Re listened tonight after hearing the typical incorrect low looking interpretation of Joseph’s triumphant moment. As I sat in church I realized I could never not see Voddie preaching this when hearing the usual. By the Grace of God you cannot unhear once you’ve heard and you cannot unsee once you’ve seen. It is the work of God and it is eternal.

Coming quite late in life to Christ I was recently praying for God to help me understand the Old Testament as I was struggling with it. I’d been browsing through sermons on KZbin and in the end wasn’t particularly paying attention as I was distracted with other matters. BUT Voddie’s words caught in my ears and I replayed this sermon from the start. God opened my ears and my heart to His truth. What a wonderful sermon. Thank you Father and God bless and keep Voddie. 🙏🏻
