I read Carter at MBTS for advanced hermeneutics with Pat Schreiner during my coursework. As a Westminster guy I remember being the most ardent anti-Thomist in the room, and I also remember us collectively not thinking much of Carter's arguments

At about minute 17:00, Dr. White posses a question about men who say “the men who taught me the most about justification, were wrong about their doctrine of God”… he asks, where will that take you? The answer seems obvious, that ALL MEN are fallible… Thomas and many of the reformers.

No prof at TMS is ither recommending or teaching Great Tradition Exegesis/hermeneutic. Both Peter Sammons and Mike Ricarrdi would repudiate that view and are committed to garden variety historic-grammatical exegesis like the Good Lord intended all men to read His Scriptures.

Exactly... For months I have heard James White make this accusation... Not once have I ever seen or heard him offer any evidence to back it up. I am specifically thinking of the accusation that Peter and Mike are promoting/recommending Carter's book.

Yes what Dr James white says is true his teacher are in the master Seminary. And this is most alarming as even Tim Keller also is trying to do the same, They even recommend carter books too!

As I do like John macarthur and like his high standard but this will come crashing down with some like carter. Not blaming TMS they might not know at all. Can someone DM Dr James white first? At the Master Seminary that is not good at all. :( Roman theology sneaking in! What Dr James white say is true everyone he is not making it up TMS is also recommending books from carter. Someone got to tell them! Carter like Keller wants to be both catholic and protestant and want to harmonize it in the reformed camp.
