Refried beans are so regional that in all of my culinary ventures, they are the hardest thing I've ever tried to replicate my favorite version of. I grew up in SoCal and there are a few places that make my favorite frijoles refritos. I now live in Tennessee and it's a constant battle trying to find anything that resembles the beans I'm trying to recreate. So far, I got close once but when I repeated my recipe, the second time was a fail. I'm envious of people who can make and enjoy their own refried beans consistently because I have yet to master it. The one time I was able to get close I only had about a cup of the refried beans left when I was finished tweaking them to enjoy so nobody else could witness my masterpiece. 😂

I feel you! There’s been several recipes that I had to continue to do over be sise I wasn’t satisfied with the results. I’ve learned you’re only a few tweaks away from getting it right! Keep cooking my friend 👍🏽
