In this video, I'm taking apart the little 3 jaw chuck that can with my blue Karger lathe. It could use some cleaning, greasing and perhaps, I can improve the run-out a bit.

That’s one cool design to deal with the runout! Sure, dealing with three jaws already throw a monkey wrench into the design since one must guess pretty much where the adjustment has to be done, just like you had to figure it out yourself in the using the next set screw to get it right! Awesome work on restoring these rare piece of machinery history!

This type of chuck in Germany it is called Planspiralfutter. Literally translation "flat spiral chuck". So, the part you don't know the name is the Planspirale. Literal translation could be "flat spiral". But I'm not sure, if this exist in English.
