I went to my local tip to tip some engine oil, because I had a couple of 10 litre tubs from a few oil changes they suggested I was a motor trader and would only let me tip 7 litres. I’ve learnt now that I’ll have to go every time I change my oil rather storing it and getting rid as a job lot. OR Go when it’s chucking it down as they all shelter in their cabin at my local tip 🤣

Our rubbish tip used to be good but now you got to book an appointment to take your rubbish. All that's going to do is encourage fly tipping. One bloke there said to me " You look like the kind of guy that would dump asbestos so I need to check that bag" I soon sorted him out, bloody cheek . Power goes to peoples heads 😂😂

Our local tip is now closed for half of the week, has that resulted in a council tax reduction, has it buggery! On one trip an elderly lady was struggling & the "staff" just stood around & watched her so I helped. Then I removed an old heavy car jack from my boot & they ran over asking to leave it on the floor (obviously they wanted it), their faces when I struggled up the ramp & chucked it into the bottom of the scrap metal skip was priceless.

Recycling centres are full of bully boys who think their job is important, they make you feel stupid. I have yet to meet one that helps you, they just stand there and watch you struggle. It costs nothing to smile and ask someone if they need some help. Goes a long way.

Exactly, our council tip closed years ago, despite a campaign to keep it open . Residents were willing to pay a nominal fee for each visit but it closed anyway. We live in a rural area and fly tipping is rife.

i work at a tip in scotland. we get attacked reguarly so they are now asking us to wear body cams, we also arnt aloud to help even though we do when no 1 is watching but were not ment to due to health and safety and lo lifes that try to say we damaged cars etc while helping so they get a claim. Yep I’ve had similar before at a local tip. Think those bodycams make them feel invincible. I’ve about 3 tips in 5 or so mile radius and thankfully there’s one that’s much quieter and got nicer staff so I just go there rather than the other 2

Yes our rubbish tip is like that as well, I took garden rubbish to the tip in a bag, emptied things out , went back with more and was told I couldn’t empty the stuff as it was gardening bits snd there were bricks, so I need to come beck again the following day, ad I had done all I was allowed for one day. Another time I put some old pillows in my bin they got took out and left against the bin, with a note not allowed in the bin. You can see why some people as wrong as it is, just dump things. . So know why it makes you angry.

When did it all become so controlled and like you said so eloquently, give a man a badge and a walkie talkie and they become so up themselves it's ridiculous. By the way, we have had our airfryer for 6 months, but it is only since we saw your videos that we actually use it now, thank you. Near us in Tameside Martin, the camera flashes your reg no. Up. You can only do two trips a month or you get charged, the best part is, the pick the best out and it goes in a shop warehouse they run.

I’m in Midlothian Scotland, we have two local recycling centres and the blokes there are brilliant. I’ve yet to encounter a ‘Hitler’ type. On the contrary, I’ve had to stop them once or twice from taking stuff out my car in an effort to help as they tend to be a bit too enthusiastic and I’m wary of getting the car damaged. I think your guys need body cams by the sound of it as they are likely to get attacked because they wind every one up. Be nicer and more helpful then no need for body cams. Anyway, love the videos. My council tip is just the same,I can't stand em, I try to burn everything I can. Sainsburys can recycle most soft plastic bags in store.old engine oil can be used in chainsaws or mixed with old creosote.

Yep, it's like that at our tip here in the NW and has been so for at least 15 years. You daren't even say the rubbish is someone else's that you're doing a favour for. They then say you're doing it for payment and so are a trader or commercial, even if it's for your Mum. My Mum is aged 80 but she can't get me to take something to the tip (or not admit to it), because then it would be 'commercial'. Since they re-opened after lockdown in 2020 you now have to show ID to prove you live in the borough, such as your driving licence. They have the ordinary minimum-wage types in hi-viz green jackets (who to be fair can be ok, although they won't bend the rules - they're being watched and monitored see), but sometimes they have a couple of higher ranks who wear bright orange coats and actually have ear-pieces and wrap-around dark shades. They think they're CIA or summat, or more likely concentration camp guards.

Tip fees here down under varies between council, but most charge about £225 ($388 Aust ) per 1000 kilos (2200 pounds) of mixed waste. Recyclables are free, also at my council we have 6 free pick ups from our kerb a year. So between neighbours its 1 a month, I haven't been to the tip for years. The body worn cameras are the for staff safety, thats what management say ( most likely to catch staff member doing wrong). No snow here..

Watching 10 months on, and you were wondering if you buy an Airfryer it would be just another gadget…. Bloody tips, I think that’s half the reason there’s so many flytippers. When my husband was working he bought permit online… which you need to put the type of vehicle etc, only to be told when you arrive you can’t bring that type of vehicle in 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

We had a very similar situation at our local tip. We had a small 5 foot ish trailer, but because the trailer was 2 inches over the permitted size they refused to let us in to tip the waste. You need a permit to use that trailer. Here's the stinker in the story, it's FREE to get a household permit for lager vehicles for upto 12 visits a year. But he wouldn't use his discretion for 2 inches. In the end we had to pull outside snd run loads of the rubbish in from the trailer in the boot of the car. Absolute jobsworth he was that day! We have to book a slot in advance at our tip in Worthing West Sussex and you have a maximum of 30 minutes. They do watch what you’re dumping but I don’t feel they are anywhere near as bad as the ones at your tip and they are normally very good at helping you, especially the ladies!! 😂

Same tip rubbish ( pardon the pun) down here Martin. Got to prove you're from the district area now. Was all done up 8 ish years ago, a tight bend on purpose so no trailers or vans can get through, I think if you're in a car and trailer there is a special bit to go but a right faf. Min charges for commercial waste around £60 per tonne now, was £45 ish for garden waste. As you say no wonder people fly tip.

Ninja foodi air fryer mate, pressure cooks a whole roast chicken in about 45 mins and replaces the slow cooker etc as well as lots of other functions. Thought the same as you it would be another dust collecting gimmick but ours gets used all the time 👍

When opening a bag from the freezer say peas, chips, or mixed veg etc , cut the top of the bag off approx 3/4inch down , remove required amount, then use the strip you have cut off to tie up the bag and pop back in the freezer.

Got to speak as you find...since we've moved to Lincs, we've found The Tip Men of South Kesteven Recycling Centre to be great. Always help out, always on the go. Fortunately our Recycling Centre isn't too busy at all cos I Iove a good tidy up - you feel like you've purged your soul!😅 Back in London (Royal Borough of Greenwich), they were proper Jobs Worths....you'd think they owned the joint!! If only these Councils realised that by being so restrictive, they're only sending idiots off to fly-tip. And again, it's the very same Councils that get lumbered going to clear it up, at a far greater expense! Come 2024, we'll be getting a 4th bin to separate paper&cardboard from all the other Recycling....Why? I swear we did this in London: bottles&jars in a separate box from the cardboard etc.....only to watch the collectors tip it ALL into the back of same waste cart!!! Wonder if all our waste bins we're accumulating are made of recyclable materials, cos they break very easily?? 🤔 ♻️
