Yep! That was mine and my husband’s biggest disagreement. He says he doesn’t want an 11 yr old cleaning things, but you have to start them young. You might have to correct things with them, but you have to have them practicing. He lost that argument. I am a working mom now that they’re older and they have to have chores for their own good, and bc they need to help keep the house they live in.

I do know about all those things you mentioned, and I also know that young woman can still be held accountable for her actions. She was living like a slob and and her mother knew she was like that before she left her house. If her anxiety was that bad, her mother should've had someone in place to clean her room for her, but she didn't because she knew her daughter was mentally and physically able to do it herself. Seriously ‼️ I've always said there's a difference between being messy and just down right disgusting. I was raised by my grandmother who was so "old fashioned." Had to fold the towels right, laundry separated, dishes washed and then dried asap. Etc. I'm grateful to have been taught how to clean. I have major anxiety and depression and struggle with "cleaning", but that shows like clothes getting wrinkled in the dryer or staying in a dryer, two or three pairs of shoes near the front door (I dont wear my shoes in the house), my unpacked lunch box from the night before in the kitchen and just repacking it the next day, stuff like that. That was hideous.

I don't understand the return of October - it was a month to month lease, the tenant moved out in the middle of the month - in every case I've ever listened to the tenant forfeits because the rental period is from the 1st to the last day of the month. I've seen this judge and JJ both award the full months rent to the landlord even if the tenant was only there until the 2nd or 3rd, not prorate it - this slob was there until the 15th, and you KNOW there was some serious cleaning and airing out to be done in that nasty room when she left. I'm baffled.

A massage is someone very much in your personal space & usually in a relatively small enclosed room. Nobody wants someone with hygiene issues as their massage therapist. Usually with this kind of parent, they are used to being the boss and daughter or son will be babied and unable to function like an adult when they are 21 and older.

@@Everykneebows actually it can be related one of my really good friends who is a grandmother is taking care of her grandson who is about 18 now. He has some serious mental issues and anxiety, and he is an absolute slob and he’s overweight as well.

@@dcwatashi Hi mental illness is terrible. And depression can cause this behavior. But it looks like the mother idk, just guessing pandered to her daughter, cleaned up after her, her whole life. If the daughter does stuff like poops on the seat and lives as she does she needs to be parented until she can care for herself. As of now she is unfit to live on her own.

I completely agree that the daughter needs to clean up after herself and not be messy especially if she's going to be living with somebody else but I don't agree that the defendant should have got to keep any additional rent, the reason that I feel this way is because the defendant herself admitted that she told the plaintiff she needed to be out by a certain date due to her being messy so it's not like she wasn't expecting her to leave. If you give someone notice and tell them they need to leave by a certain date and they leave before that date as long as the rent is paid in full it doesn't matter if they leave before that date you were expecting them to leave and she should have started advertising right then and there.

The mother didn't want to deal with her daughter's mess (literally) anymore. She thought she would make her problem somebody else's problem. It's obvious something is mentally wrong with the daughter, but 2 things can be true. She is also just a slob.
