Unlocking camps is also crucial when you host a quest. If I remember it right, your friends or fellow hunters won't be able to use those locations for quick travel etc when you haven't unlocked them yet.

Refusing to unlock camps brings you closer to carting. If you’re struggling with a monster players will not get to you fast enough to take aggro off the host.

All these privileged new world hunters don't know how good they have it. In my day when the monster was at the far end of the map we had to hike every mile to get there, climb every sheer cliff, cross every poisonous swamp and every smoldering hot volcano, half the team would be out of stamina and at half health, the rest would be dead. We didn't have no fancy monster Uber or item box to _restock_ .

Yeah, back in the days, we have to bring the book of combos to perfectly craft a mega potion during quest. You 5th fleeter got it all easy.

There's nothing like jumping in a random.SOS to help someone only to have to run.Or raider ride halfway across the damn board because they don't have a closer camp.can be frustrating.

You can also just join ppl with unlocked camps then tp to all of them, no need to explore
