Aphelion 2 is far superior to Apheta 3, hence the price difference. They are not comparable so if you have the means get the Aphelion 2. That said as long as you never listen to one, the Apheta 3 is amazing in and of itself.

I really like your videos! I own the P10 with the Aphelion 2 and love it! My phono stage is the Goldnote PH10 with the PSU10 power supply, Bryston BR20 preamp, Bryston 4B3 amp and Revel Ultimate Studio 2 speakers. I'm just wondering if the Goldnote is a good match for my cartridge. It was a great upgrade from the Rega Aria phono stage but was just wondering if at a similar price point to the Goldnote PH10/PSU10 if another phono stage would be better suited.

I was hoping for a review, some kind of context to form some opinions about this cartridge. I don't know what to say about the comment about fear of mounting this cart, because on a Rega arm there are three holes to locate the cartridge on the arm that align with three screw holes on the cartridge., so it is always installed correctly, like screwing in alight bulb, unlike the standard two hole adjustable mounts that require detailed measurements. As a matter of fact I clicked in hoping for information about this cartridge because I have a Michell arm that uses a modified rega arm wand, so I can mount a rega cartridge and avoid measurement errors. it;s just that the cart with the features I want is expensive, so I was seeking information. I completely agree about the difficulty of improving the sound of a turntable, because they are designed as a whole, like a musical instrument . If a sonic improvements are easily made , the product designers screwed up. And with well informed consumers, a competitive market place, new products want a good return on investment , so put out the best top of market price point product that they can manage. one might upgrade parts and degrade the sound because things are no longer working together to form the same sonic effects. Upgrading the power supply is usually valid, as is a better arm, if the design permits. other than that, very tough, because everything vibrates infinitesimally, and it all affects the sound.

Hey Guys, greetings from the UK. Great Video. Looking forward to the next video where you talk about the difference in sound to the Apheta 3 with the P10. Are you using the Rega Aura Phono Stage with the P10 ? I have the P10 with Apheta 3 and Aura and wondering how good the Aphelion 2 is. My Aura is connected to my Chord Electronics Prima Pre-amp and Mezzo 140 Power Amp which is connected to my Focal Electra 1008 Be's. Wondering if the Rega Aethos is better than my Chord set-up ! Have you Guys any experience with the Aethos ? However I need to call my Rega Dealer here in the UK as when I cue the tonearm onto and off the record when the arm is in the middle to the end (close to the record label) of the record it moves to the left by a good 25mm (1"). This makes it near impossible to get the stylus to fall onto a specific record track. I have set the arm's bias adjustment to 2 as I have the Apheta 3 set at 1.95 grams as per Rega's recommendation. Also I am hearing what I think is like low frequency rumble (possibly bearing noise ?) when I hear very quiet passages to music through my speakers and especially if I am listening through my Hifiman Headphone System (EF1000 & Susvara). I never had these issues when I had a Rega RP10 with Apheta 2 cartridge. Have you guys experienced any of the issues I currently have with the P10 ?

We are currently using an Aria. Sorry to hear your Cue is acting up and you have a rumble. Hopefully your dealer gets you taken care of. We have not experienced either issues.

@@Dreamonoids Guys, if you wanna really enjoy Aphelion, you must have Aura...That phono stage is blast, step from Aria to Aura is like Face melting.

P10 is not the top model any more. Now, there is Naia costing twice of the P10. I own a P6 and ordered P10. Naia is waaaay too high for my budget.

The Naiad is technically still the stop dog, but like the Naia, is out of most people’s budget. We will have to slum it with the Planar 10. ;)
