@@Dreamonoids I wouldn't mind so much if the 'walnut finish' was actually real veneer but it's plastic. At those prices that is disgraceful. Also that cartridge is far from being 'top of the line'. I have a P2 and Fono MM Mk5 with an AT-VM540ML that I bought about a year and a half ago because my other TT (Technics SL-5) died. Although it's fairly new, I'm considering upgrading it to a P6 (trading in the P2) and keeping my cart. Would a different phono stage or cart make a bigger difference or should I just be happy with what I have now? It's currently the best turntable I've had. The P6 is so much more advanced than the P2...almost a completely different animal!
@Dreamonoids2 ай бұрын
I would look into changing the cart first, but see how it sounds first. The Ania Pro was always one of my favorites on the P6.
@garyausten59392 ай бұрын
@@Dreamonoids I don't know about an MC cart. I'd have to spend extra for a new phono pre and wasn't originally going to buy one anyways for the AT cart, but the gain from the phono input in my AVR was too small to ignore (had to crank the volume to get any decent sound)...I'm not even positive about the table upgrade - I mean, if it ain't broken.... I would be more inclined if I was forced, to upgrade the cart and keep the table, or have my dealer replace the RB220 with an RB330. Right now I'm just evaluating my options. Seems like the P6 is just a completely different animal than the P2. Thanks for the reply, though :)

How much better is this than the RP10 I’m interested to know your thoughts? Thanks in advance
@Dreamonoids6 ай бұрын
Well if you already own an RP10 I’d just relax and enjoy, but if you’re just trying to find the best of the best then I’d say the Planar 10 skeletal plinth is 30% lighter than the original RP10 while offering increased rigidity over the previous model. Less mass means superior sound. This is all based on Rega’s core principal found in their book, “A Vibration Measuring Machine.” Rega puts extensive time into their R&D, and they only release new models when they have vastly outperformed their predecessor. That being said the RP10 is formidable to almost any turntable, just slightly dated now.
