Capt Tom, I can understand your pain! I had my 26 footer, had it 33 years. My daughter grew up in it. Lots of good memories with it. I had the boat at home when I sold it, I told the new owner to schedule it for pick up when I am not home. It broke my heart to know that it will be gone when I get home. Honestly I still haven't gotten over it yet. It was a good part of my families life. Anyway, good luck with the new boat! Take care and Happy Holidays!

@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Yes 33 years, like you with the Meridian, which is a beautiful boat, I knew the boat bow to stern inside and out, the exterior was always polished and waxed, during the mid season I would wash the hull, polish and wax. Yes it was said when my wife of now 35 years said she had enough of boating, that led me to unfortunately sell it. I couldn't stay away from the water, I ended up buying a 17 ft bow rider, have to stay on the water. Sad, but you are leaving it in great shape for the new owner. I have owned three boats so far. Always made a tradition of having a small brass plaque made when I first bought the boats, and a tradition of removing and retiring the plaque when I sold them. Silly and unnecessary I guess, but It gave me a real sense of closure and continuity.

We just traded our 24’ hurricane deck boat for a 30’ Four Winns with 2 motors and a joy stick. First time in our boating lives that we’ve had a joystick. My hubby is 72 and can park anywhere in anything but he’s a bit intimidated with it. I told him it just takes practice. Love your videos and travels which is something we’d love to do! Can you advise as to how to learn all the ports and what to do? We’re in CC as well. Up by 7 Islands. Thank you.

Best to study the charts and learn the waters. I’m often reviewing Navionics sonar view charts of the local waters.

I live in Florida and for future advice if you need a title you can get a title hard copy from the your local tag agency within minutes .

Yes however getting an appointment is usually a week out in my city and walk ins wait for hours. I ordered online and had it mailed in about a week.

@ we have some walk up windows at our local tag agency no appointment needed and was able to get a title for a vehicle a month ago Saint John’s county . I think all counties should walk up windows makes the process much easier.

I do on water lessons for boat owners. Best to take a class or boater safety course for initial rules of the road stuff. BoatUS offers free online course. Then do the on water training.
