Just wanted to drop you a comment and say thanks. This video helped me replace the digitizer on my tablet. I did have to take it apart like you did but it now works flawlessly. Awesome job.

Thanks! I dropped my memo pad 8 today at work...resulting in a black screen (even with a solid case). I had to open it up to reconnect the video cable, now its working like normal.

Thank god. Someone that knows how to make a DIY video for devices. I have an ASUS tablet but it's a different model. This the first step in the video is the only one that applies to my tablet. I watched the whole video though because every minute is worth watching. No time is wasteed explaining how he's going to explain what he's going to eventually do and no overbearing music or bratty kids screaming in the back ground. Thank you sir. Make more of these and get yor self sponsored.

I couldn't agree more. I do have a ME172V and was much relieved to hear silence ... except for him taking the thing apart. Yes, I know there are lots of friendly types out there who feel the need to say a little something first, or last, or throughout the whole damn video ... eesh! I learned what I needed to know by just watching what was done and my tablet is now fixed. Thank you regazzz ! I know nothing about you, but your video was a breath of fresh air. Two thumbs way up from me!

So to replace the glass screen only, is this complete disassembly necessary? Or is there a quicker way to do that on this particular tablet?

Thanks for the video, helped me a lot. I would like to know the tools used. What did you use and special tools to remove the glass screen. Looks like a dryer, temperature is used to?. No damage to the glass itself? Thanks in advance.
@regazzz10 жыл бұрын
If you will use a heat gun a little bit, there should be no damage. But in case of this memo pad there is actually no big need in heat gun. Screen should come out without any problem and heating.

I tried to get my stuck SD card out and I accidentally broke my tablet When it boots it shows the ASUS logo and then everything is blurring out and there is stripes on it ( pink , blue, white stripes and sometimes it white-out ) I think I damaged that orange thing you're touching on 3:43 ( it's not cut out or something, just some scratch on it ) is that what causes my screen go blank or stripes ? Please help me fix this

Thank you so much for this video, when you took off the LCD from the screen I see you used a heat gun of sort but can a blow dryer perform the same ?
@regazzz10 жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for watching. Actually there is no need to use a hairdryer or heat gun. LCD panel, if you will be careful will came out without it. Little heat is not bad anyway. But not a lot.

I broke my screen and was wondering before I buy a replacement One to do myself. If I had to take all of that apart to get to screen or could I go straight for the lighty-uppy piece before the clear screen just to replace that. And how much would I cost for another person to do it. (Electronics don't make me nervous but doing something wrong does)
@regazzz10 жыл бұрын
Hey kat tannim, it will be much easier to get a touchscreen with frame or even a used memopad with good digitizer and replace part you need, rather than removing broken pieces that are actually glued and will break even more.
@katt625310 жыл бұрын
regazzz my digitizer is fine its only the glass on the actually screen that you touch. I'm a little confused.
@regazzz10 жыл бұрын
Let's say, There is Outer glass, actual digitizer is glued to a glass - it's thin and clear, and there is an LED screen. Usually either screen is broken or digitzer glass. Sometimes if glass is broken - digitizer still works. But if you want to change a glass, you will buy either new glass with glued digitizer on it already or you will be getting a new or used complete part bezel and glass and digitizer. You will not be able to find only glass and than remove digitizer, because ripping digitizer off glass will probably destroy it and gluing it back to glass at home will be not a nice job. I hope you got my point.
@katt625310 жыл бұрын
That is very informative, I now know what you mean thankyou.

@kekeyagami9 жыл бұрын
Hi my older sister sat on my tablet and cracked the screen, whenever I turn it on it's a blueish cracked screen I can't make it do anything. Do you think that I would need a digitizer
@regazzz9 жыл бұрын
kekeyagami Here is the catch... basically what people do call digitizer is not really a digitizer but only a glass. Than on the inner side of this glass digitizer is glued. If glass is cracked you will need to replace a whole part together with digitizer. If internal screen is not damaged - replace only digitizer but the easiest way will be to get a part with plastic bezel already. Most on eBay, for example digitizers from china without this plastic bezel and it will be too much to do. Show me the link on the part you might want to buy and I will tell what you would expect.

My son has the micro sd card stuck in his tablet and it will not pop out. Do you need the anti-static wrist band just to remove the back to access the sd slot or can you do it without? If need one, where do you find them? Thanks.
@regazzz10 жыл бұрын
EvansJrFamily sorry for such a late response, very busy lately with all kind of staff. Not really, I just tell it to make if someone will shock their motherboard I will cover my ass :) I, sometimes don't use it (when I need to quickly remove something) So, don't worry, but keep in mind if you will shock your motherboard (who knows, some people wear some synthetic clothe) it will be on your sholders, on the other hand, logic board for this memopad will be cheap and you will be able to replace it (except data you have o it) :)

Hey Beth. I took apart few of me173x. It is somehow different than me172v. I was very disappointed that in me173x is very hard to separate digitizer outer glass from the actual internal screen. Anything else was pretty easy.I will upload this video today!
